M Adapter T

Recommended Posts

I spent an hour at the LA Leica Store with the T in hand. I am posting in this thread because I have to say I was really impressed with the T's ease of focusing through the EVF with M lenses. It was ... simple. I did not need any focus peeking or assist.

Would you mind discussing this a bit more. Using the Visoflex, how is correct focus indicated? The only reason I would buy this camera is to use my M lenses on it.

I've paid for some stupid things over the years, but I can't ever see myself paying $600 US for an adapter - especially since I only have one coded lens.

Actually, they are listed at $395 US. It's the Visoflex that runs just under $600.

Sure - the focus is simply evident visually. As you move the focus ring on the lens, the image through the EVF moves in and out of focus. With just a bit of practice, I was able to discern when I had obtained sharp focus in the EVF. Precisely the same as using an SLR with manual focus.

Personally I like the design...what is the advantage of a hinged door?

My original comment referred not to the design but my surprise at Leica wanting to duplicate stock levels.

I assume this is much easier than with the EVF2 (with focus peaking off), because the Typ 020 EVF for the T is much higher res?
