Sorry for the distraction in the background - or rather the missed focus :) - seen yesterday during Classic Days Berlin:

M4P, 50mm Summicron V4 @f8, DoubleX 5222 in Xtol @ ISO 250. Click to enlarge.

The image below is part of a series I took for a photo essay a few days ago. The colour images were shot with a Leica Sl2-S and a 35mm Summicron M ASPH which I'm swapping with the M. Obviously the shot was at the end of the roll. But as it's a B&W film, the imperfection adds atmosphere.

A seemingly timeless photo that could have been taken 80 years ago. I like the contrast / grayscale which fits the mood perfectly.

I like the composition restricting the view to a few elements - and the light specs on the face. The colours - on my screen - seem to be a bit muted. Was that intentional?

You are showing a consistent body of work around the theme of women, beach, Lux FLE and Double-X. I enjoy the iterations.

How nice to see this lens used so well. How do you like this film? It seems to have nice greyscale on one hand and a pronounced grain on the other.

You're working your theme very well: colour contrast, symmetry of sorts, distressed surfaces... always a joy to behold

Thank you. I do love the Sonnar. I still use the Bergger for MF and LF where the grain is but a mild seasoning, but in the end, for 35mm I found it too grainy whichever developer I used, and while I loved the tonality, ultimately I preferred other like speed films with less obvious grain.
