What a robust reminder that we need more Oktoberfest! Happy color, happy time, happy people.

Thank you sincerely Rog. I hope it does bring a prelude to happier times. However, as is so often the case, all is not quite as it seems and this particular time was not so happy for Oktoberfest or Germany. Just two days prior an improvised bomb went off just meters from this place, killing 13 people and injuring around 200, many of whom lost limbs. I remember wandering around the area thinking how bizarre it was that this had happened just "the day before yesterday". To their credit, the German authorities had determined that "the show must go on" and they would not be cowed by a terrorist act (the asshole who was placing the bomb in a rubbish bin was blown to bits when it went off prematurely).

I have a large flag of Munich at home that I found lying next to a bin in the same area minutes after I took the photo in question. It's a great flag and I thought how lucky I was to find it just lying there. However as soon as I picked it up I recoiled in some terror because it occurred to me that it could have been... well, who knows? But I guess I'd already visited a couple of the beer halls by then...

Such a lonely place, Canberra. I lived there for a year and this shot sums it up well!  🙂

A couple of beach scenes, with M4-P, 50 Lux ASPH. I am really enjoying Tri-X @200 (red filter) in Pyrocat HD. It has the grain of Tri-X and the sharpness of Pyro.
