.... it's like the "famous" leica glow. After having paid premium price you tend to try and find something to justify it, not trying to aggrivate but it's plain and simple human nature.

I'll bite.

I have 3 of these suckers and 1 of the Panasonic flavor. The four cameras in total barely equate to the price of my Canon 5D MK11. And, while the four may add up in total resolution equal to the Canon, the Canon can never come close to the image quality or emotional intensity of the Digilux 2 images. I agonize between wanting the file size of the Canon and the image quality of the Digilux 2.

:)

I have been testing one of my "new to me" Digilux 2's and showed my wife this shot. Her remark? It was "creamy". I think she's right. The camera/lens gives a special rendition to even the most mundane objects. I don't know if it shows on screen but this print has a beautiful presence.

Regards,

John

I figured I'd post these in the 'correct' Digilux 2 photo dump :)

The 3rd photo was definitely taken using the Panasonic Wide Angle Converter. The 4th . . . maybe.

I would use the JPG as it is very good out of the camera but I use the bracket feature it gives me three shots with different exposures .The bracketing also helps to make sure you will get one shot that is in better focus from my experience.

OK; I'm totally pissed off with you guys. Please stop posting photos from this crappy old under-spec camera, until I get mine back from Leica.

Despite having taken delivery of a Nikon D700 and "some" lenses since the D2 went away, I'm really missing that old clunker. :(

:D

Ah, withdrawal symptoms; I know the feeling well. A chink of consolation; you will fall in love with your D2 all over again! http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/images/icons/icon10.gif
