I disagree with just about every word here. :D This is a spectacular demonstration of the D2's capability (and also the photographer's). :)

Cheers Pete!

That's very kind of you.

And. the rain (or water) drops on red. Wow !

What a photograph. What a composition.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi... first post here, thought I'd try and comply with posting some D2 shots. Unfortunately my D2 has gone bust – the CCD appears to be dead and gone. But it's at Leica HQ for a warranty repair, so here's to hoping!

I'm not sure about the etiquette, hope that posting 5 images is OK.

Welcome to the forum Malthe! I hope we'll see some more shots ( both here and in the photo forum) from your D2 once it's back from the hospital! I especially like #1 and #4. Perhaps #5 could do with a bit of rotating clockwise?

I like this one, it is reminiscent of a madonna by the posture of Sarah, especially the hand.

Here is the closest I've seen regarding the "Leica glow." The first shot was taken a few days ago during a winter relapse in Montreal. The second shot was taken yesterday. It is my first week with my "new" Digilux 2 and I am extremely happy with the results and performance so far.

These pictures haven't been touched coming out of the camera except to resize.

I also posted two shots of the Hudson's Bay company in downtown on the photo thread.

My second LC1 arrived Thursday and I did some shooting with it today. I will need to shoot a few back-to-back comparisons with my original, somewhat scruffy LC1 before I can be sure, but my initial gut feeling is that the new one (supposedly one of the last produced) creates a better quality image. In any event, here are two I shot with it this afternoon...

Hello Forum this dialogue has come just at the right time for me. I have been looking to buy a digital camera and the D2 was my first thought, I can not - do not want to go to the expense of a DSLR of comparable lens quality. I would use the camera for interiors, all slow ASA settings and long exposures on tripod. I do not need fast writng to disc. I also like composing on the LCD screen. What quality would I get? Can I get an A3 50mb image from the camera? that would be usable for use in a quality magazine/book print? Any imput re experience of publication of images. At present I use my M6 for my interiors and am happy with the slides/scans for this use but am aware of the cost to my small museum who use the images and digital would cut costs drastically.thank you for any advice, Tony

It's G5SY000XX and the seller said he was the original owner and bought it from the last batch B&H received, shortly after it had been discontinued. I wonder if the serial numbers run consecutively, in random batches, and/or assigned to production for different countries?

Indeed! I wouldn't have bought it otherwise ... although now that I think about it, if the sensor does go, then I'm probably screwed! Maybe the trick is to buy one that's within the affected range so repairs will be free rather than buy one outside the range so that repairs won't be necessary?
