leicamann Posted May 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) This weekend marks a time that the moon is the closest to the earth it has been in some time, here is one of my attempts, enjoy..thanks for looking. She is beautiful, in a haunting sort of way, we all know the extremes that happen out there:confused: Cheers, JRM

pauledell Posted May 6, 2012 Share #7 Posted May 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) John, Your view of the supermoon is quite superior to my sightings. I had to view it through some haze. Still it was an impressive sight. Incidentally, I have staked out the large crater on the upper right for my summer retreat when I complete my personal rocket ship. Paul

mgcd Posted May 12, 2012 Share #14 Posted May 12, 2012 Thanks John, things are difficult for them with the expanding drought but they are infinitely generous people in spirit and in kind. At the end of the day I enjoyed having tea with them although I had to decline their offer to share a meal earlier. Cheers

Cheers Ditto, thought so. ..they looked like decent folk, the type that would give the shirt of their backs, just a really hard life. Still , it must be a funny feeling, seeing people go through such hardships, Thanks again and take care!! Cheers, JRM
Iduna Posted May 13, 2012 Share #16 Posted May 13, 2012 John! A rare shot and it is marvellous. Great respect and thnaks for showing us how precious life is!
leicamann Posted May 13, 2012 Author Share #17 Posted May 13, 2012 Iduna, one thing that impressed me during this assignment was the whole feeling tone of the experience. The results were surprising, but looking at the moon, gives a sense of timelessness, some of those impact craters happened millions of years ago. One thing is for certain that we now know scientifically what was known through story, without the moon, the Earth as we know it would be dead, the moon and its constant pulling at the earth , IS the earths heartbeat, its pulse. The sun also, each time we make a link, we see that each part, each is part of an incredible whole, a cosmic dance all happening at once, like an orchestra playing all the possible notes and rhythms in one go.. of course we only perceive a small part of it, enough to make us realize as you say, how precious and delicate it all is. Thanks for your comment Cheers, JRM
