:( Nice to read every one is Happy with the M8. I love it too.. I Love my M8 and learned the colours from M cameras I too still believe it is a good utile. Last week my M8 was dead and it's shutter has broken in pieces while on holiday in Paris. So my M8 has betrayed me and ruined all my planes. Today I went to see the dealer to send it back to Solms in Germany . as the guaranty is over, I don't know how much I have to pay. This is the second time it goes to the repair table within one year when I bought it. Luckily I still have my M6 and I am going to dust off it and going to have my second thought on M8

Definitely still loving the M8. And I can't imagine a life without it. Though I have been rarely using it lately (I've been shooting film mostly), every time I pick it up it evokes the very feelings I had when I held it for the first time -- utter joy and happiness. I hope to use it until either of us dies.

I just bought an M8 a couple of months ago and decided to put a Cobalt Blue leather cover that I've always lusted after when I owned a chrome M6 classic...

My M9 has been into Leica so much for pixel and motor issues (3 times) that I rely heavily on the M8. Got the 8 shutter upgrade back in the day (2008?) and it performs wonderfully. Now I need to get one of those great ancient 28mm I see you all with!

Forgetting the batters issues I had with mine, it is still the digital camera I keep coming back to.

Never had a better image from another camera , never enjoy shooting with another digital as much as with the m8, and never regretted buying it.

Today it is still my digital camera of choice because the lenses it can use and the ease of operation.the files are still above the competition, including the m9 and they will be for a long long time.

Those who own one can feel proud to own one...those who don't should buy one if they can.

Best

Andy

I am frustrated!!

This morning I got the news about my repaired camera. It is back ready after repair and of course I am here to announce I am loving my M8 and how much I missed it for about two months while away in repair.

Thank you Solms for giving a second life for M8.

I am excited to find out how silent and obeying you are now and how accurate your frame lines than before.!!!

This camera is wonderful...it feels almost as good as my first Leica, an M4P I bought used, and nearly as nice as the new M4P, and almost as good as the M6 and the M6TTL, and the other M6, but quicker for almost everything I do.

Sure, I lust for an M9, but I'm a poor documentary photog and can't afford it. So for now, I will stick with the lovely M8. I have the M8 with CV 15, Summicron 35, Summilux 50, and Summarit 90. I wish I could afford the 21 F2.8 in either Leica or Zeiss, but I can't at the moment!

Cyril, that is excellent news to bolster your morale. Hope the wallet wasn't hit too hard. But now you have an old camera with a new warranty. That is also good news! :)

Oh David,... I assume my camera is new now. and in my vocabulary the word OLD docen't exist. Cos' it is scary to continue any business with M-digital. I have two options..... to use the camera very moderately or start to put an extra savings on a side.
