Leather and strap look very pleasing but the color of the screw heads would make me sick 😉

Different taste, I like it as it is. You want the screw heads in silver, isn‘t it?

Yes, I would have checked that in Photoshop before I´d done the new leather (which I LIKE!).

The screws in the leather area were black on both serial made models (black paint and silver body) so they are in the original color at your camera but the leather is not. If Leica would have made your leather color, they would have tried silver screws I´m sure (because Leica used two different screw colors on all silver M3s made).

Just redo the strap with black stitching, since it already has black edging. Such a fashionista, you are, so stylish. Love it. If only we could hear the conversation with your models over this M3 haute couture statement. BTW Arte di Mano shows an M3 with cognac leather skin and black screws on their website, so you're not alone. Cheers. Of course, if you had opted for silver screws, you might well be inviting the argument that there is simply too much silver. Ha, ha, ha. Now comes the question of what ensemble are you going to wear with this bad boy?

Ha Ha very good Ernest! The conversation is always very short: „what a beautiful little camera, but I can not see any of the photos we made. Where is the monitor?“ I also got this leather from Arte di Mano. So many wonderful leather skins they have……and.. only silver lenses with this bad boy!!

Keep your black screws and you can also use black chrome and black painted lenses. I had a suspicion that you went for Arte di Mano skins. I have four ADM half cases, all black shell cordovan, and about to order a fifth. I will have to work up the nerve to go with a color, but you’ve got me thinking.

This is my Leica M3 Double Stroke from August 1957. CLAd in August, 2021, works perfectly and I prefer this double stroke camera over a single stroke M3 that I also own. Lens is LEITZ WETZLAR SUMMICRON 35mm f/2 (8 element) from 1963, optics have been overhauled. This lens is much appreciated by black and white lovers. The meter is Leicameter MR-4.

What makes you like the double stroke more than the single stroke M3?
