The fender/wing lines (and a couple of other details) scream "Alvis Speed 25 2-door drophead/cabriolet" of 1938±. Especially the duck-tail on the rear.

However, the boot profile seems gentler and more compact than most of them. Maybe just a specific coach builder?

Thank you, Hektor. I only discovered those quite late-on in life but they struck me as being rather beautifully proportioned.

OK; again, not sure if this will be easy or otherwise. Last one I posted was far too easy so Must Do Better as my report card unfailingly said.

Bit of a clue first; It's a Special. By that I mean the bodywork is possibly a one-off BUT it is very largely based on the general bodywork shape of a similar offering from the same manufacturer. In light of this I only need the name of said Company. I'll try not to give clues which offer no help whatsoever; I will endeavour to include at least something which might be recognisable from either the maker or else the 'inspiration' for the shape in each image - assuming no-one gets it from the very first picture......

Good luck, All!

I think the tail fin on this car looks identical to the one on ours but as I am in Barbados with no access to car photos, I will leave it to others.

Thank you Wison!

If you would like me to send you a PM in order to verify your suspicions please do let me know.

In the meantime I trust you are having a wonderful time on holiday. Probably much like where you are the temperature here in London is currently in the high 90s. Unfortunately, however, ours is measured in Fahrenheit(*).

OK; here's another snap of her hindquarters. I'm showing this area for the time being because AFAIC tell this area of the 'Special' takes quite a lot of inspiration from the manufacurer's regular model;

Good evening / morning (delete as appropriate as they say!) gentlemen! Well; what can I say? You wait three days for a bus and then...

You are, of course, both correct in that it is indeed a Riley MPH-based Special. Ronald wins a tick and a star for including both the chassis No. as well as the registration plate.

The following info about this car is currently 'out there' in www-land;

"1931 Riley MPH Tourer Special. Chassis number: XXXXXXX. Registration number: Reg. No. XX XXXX. A beautifully proportioned Riley Special based upon an MPH chassis. The pleasing body lines were taken from an original sprite & are very well executed. Under the bonnet is a 2.5 litre Riley 16 twin cam engine from 1939..."

I snapped the car at the 2016 Crystal Palace Sprint Meeting and must say that in the 'flesh' the car was a very handsome thing!

As I asked only for the marque - and as Ronald may not an offering in the pipeline in any case - it will be Hektor in control for the next puzzle!

A pair of snaps to tidy up and thanks for playing everyone!
