Dunk,

forgive me for hijacking this but curiosity is killing me.......perhaps you clear something up for me when you post the next car .
I'm aware this is a complete non sequitur, but why do you suppose the clutch pedal is fully depressed and resting on the floorboard in your of AX 201 photos above..

John I've no idea why … I have some other images taken in later years which might show a similar interior view so will check … and also check my Silver Ghost owner's manual … which is the nearest I'll ever get to owning or driving a RR Sliver Ghost :)

EDIT:  Same RR Silver Ghost AX 201 pictured at RREC Rally June 2017 ... Is there a security bar pressing onto the clutch pedal?

Here's the next car and a clue: Postwar and a 'solution' for a certain European manufacturer.

Make and model please.

John, Scroll forward to 1minute 18 seconds to see the wooden rod depressing the clutch:

Silver Ghost clutches are a bit notorious for sticking engaged. People often ask us what the very low tech wooden rods in our Ghosts are for. One rod for clutch and one for a more accurate view of fuel tank contents.

The exhaust pipe suggests a small displacement engine.

Small? Maybe by USA standards but it's a European car … and the small diameter exhaust pipe might be deceiving ;)

Not sure if the hub caps are original … will check

EDIT: Hub caps appear to be original

Correct Hektor … well spotted.

At last year's RREC Annual Rally at Burghley Park, Stamford,  the club celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the first postwar Earls Court Motor Show and invited other early postwar cars and owners to the event. This particular car is believed to have served as a UK police car … hence the replica bell on o/s front.

Your turn Hector
