M1 vs M11-V, both stripped down cameras sort of. Do you remember how much cheaper the M1 was compared to its sister M2? If the delta were similar between M11 and M11-V, the latter could be considered an entry camera into the M system but its built-in EVF would not be the Visoflex 2, i guess, rather that of the Q3 rumors say. We shall see indeed.

Intriguing and easy exercise... as for US pricelist 1964 M1 was 25,3% less than M2  (body) , giving up RF, 90mm frame and selftimer (*) : such a gap applied to M11 would bring a price, for M11-V , very similar to Q3 (a bit lower, or higher for Q3 43, up to current Italian pricelist) : you give up a lens... 😁, but I think that M11-V would mainly target customers well equipped of glass... 😉

(*) indeed, they listed also M2X - no ST - 17,3% over M1, but was a "spurious" listing, maybe for US only, and for a short time

Rumors also suggest the Maestro III processor will be used. Is this processor powerful enough? When using EVF on the M11/M11-p, there's a significant time lag between reality and the final image on the camera. This lag is approximately half the step of a calmly walking person (0.25-0.3 s), so it must be taken into account when shooting to ensure the step phase is captured beautifully in the final image. I doubt such a lag is acceptable for a camera where the EVF is the only option. Or have the developers managed to work a miracle and eliminate this drawback in the new camera?

Bad comparison. The M1 only had to give up the RF without any alterations but the rumored M wil have to add an EVF including integration in the camera.

Hard to tell. Probably the demand on the processor by the EVF software can be reduced compared to the rather dated Visoflex.

I didn't notice any difference in lag between the Visoflex and the LCD.

Speaking under Luigi's control, the M1 gave up the RF, the 90mm framelines, the frame selector and the self-timer AFAIK.

Correct, but nothing was added as a replacement - and therein lie the costs. The M - EVF would have to add a newly-designed EVF and attendant electronics and a new top plate.

Everyone who thinks that an M with something left out will be cheaper than the "normal" version may have a look at the M11-D (back display left out) or the M11 Monochrom (Bayer filter left out). Are they cheaper?

The rumored price is 7950€ in Europe. I believe that would be less expensive than an M11-P.
