The two biggie reseller in Ny had them in stock on evening and in stock the next morning. The just made a buttload more profit!

They won't make any profit unless they sell them 😁 I don't imagine anyone will be buying a battery for $380 that wasn't worth the $200 it was before. Most will wait to see if/when the tariffs are reduced or lifted.

[...] Additional M lens code request for Summarit 50mm F1.5 and Elmarit 24mm F2.8 if possible.

There is no specific 6-bit code for the Summarit 50/1.5 that was discontinued in the 60s if memory serves. It has similar vignetting as the Summilux 50/1.4 v2 AFAIK so it can be coded as such (000101) presumably. I have no experience with it though. As for the Elmarit 24/2.8 asph its 6-bit code is 011001. See coded flange below. FWIW.

What specifically?   Just updating for updating's sake would be meaningless.

Leica still has not added autofocus to M cameras, tsk tsk tsk.

Leica has moved the centenary date to next year😅

For me, it doesn't matter if, when, or how they celebrate their anniversaries.
But it would be good if they finally came up with something innovative again, and not just special engravings or reissues of old designs, because the Chinese have been doing those better for a long time, and at less unrealistic prices.

The EVF-M together with a 35mm Noctilux could - if they are even halfway successful - give Leica's declining position some of the much-needed tailwind.

It is possible that Leica simply hasn't debugged the EVF-M yet and doesn't want the situation with the M11 to repeat itself, which only started working 2.5 years after its release. And that's right, it's better not to rush and release a reliable camera.

Smogg,  Your assessment might be spot on.   October might be better timing.  But whatever the date, I too, would much rather have a reliable M camera rather than experience another debacle.  r/ Mark

Since you mention them. I notice BH  raised their price on current stock at midnight . Great extra profit they are making there! they were in stock at $240 and unstuck the next day at $380. It's a bit of a sour taste really, no product haas been tariffed and made it to shelves yes. The tariff  just makes retailers more money

I was watching a video about how the tariffs might affect the Swiss watch industry.

The presenter said that it is the importing agent who gets hit with the tariffs, not the manufacturer. Ergo price hikes do not necessarily originate in Wetzlar.

Yes of course it’s the importers responsibility to apply the tariff - it’s charged at the point of entry.

The point I was trying to make, which breached forum rules (apologies to@jaapv) was that tariff increases have NOTHING to do with Leica.  Leica has recently announced a general price increase, but that is quite separate to tariffs.

The importer must apply the tariff, that’s a legal requirement, but the importer does have a choice: take some of the tariff out of their margin (and make less money) or pass the cost on (sales may suffer and stock financing costs increase).

I will refrain for adding an opinion in the hope that this post enlightens and does not breach forum rules.
