The best digital M yet.

P.S.: Of course, that is only my opinion.

(IF you get a copy that doesn't freeze, corrupt files or disappear them). 😢

I got even two that do not freeze, a silver and a black.

Thanks for M11, of which I had two, M11-P and M11-D, and now none, I have an M9-P and an M-P 240 to keep, both beautiful, with vivid colors and even the  only rangefinder color video in a Leica, that don't freeze!  On the launch day I went to a Leica store and tried it, and didn't like it for a year.  Should have  stayed true to the original instinct.

I read that posts.. very unfortunate.. despite all the flaws and freezes.. my early M11 was oke but all the fuss made me feel so insecured that i had to carry my m10r as backup lol… felt tired, tried the x2d with no freezes and no video which i always prefer.. the lesser the features the better for my usage

Debatably i should be oke with m8 for all matters.. i never used the extra feature that carried from the next generation.. except when they started to remove the video features in M10 and the usb c port for ease of charge in m11.. all is set

Managed to hold off until I fell for the Glossy Paint (together with a good trade-in deal of my M10). So far no freeze or magenta issues...

Funny how color tastes can be different. In my case i have kept my M240 as backup but i must struggle in post to adjust its colors while doing so feels so much easier with the M11, to the point that i use more and more jpegs as starting point with this camera. YMMV.

Absolutely.  For malleable files, I use M10R.  But for the life soundtrack with Leica, the M9-P and M240 look is special.:)

I am ready for the M12, starting over with all the hassle again! 😂 the worst is yet to come!!

There's still a couple more special edition M11 cameras to come before the M12:  The M11SOB and the M11MF.

Just got an M11-P and with the latest firmware it has not frozen. I also find the color rendering straight out of the camera very natural, at least with the 50mm APO.

I have had an M11-M destroy some images, and at the end of the day, the SD cards were too slow.  I upgraded to a card with a much faster write speed and have not had any problems in freezing or destroying images since - including my M11-P.

I’ve had every series version of digital M except monochromes and the 11 is my favourite. Mine, in nearly three years of almost daily use, has never frozen or misbehaved in any way.

Despite my disagreements with some of Leica’s decisions, including pricing in some areas, and sometimes customer care, I seem to have been very lucky with all my Leica equipment. My only camera problems have been caused by me.

I think the beta testers did a terrible job on the m11.

I wonder if they use a same set of beta testers. Because, that might risk not discovering some issues.
