4. EFCS! Come on Leica. Sort this out. Eliminates shutter shock without using the slow read out electronic shutter.

5. Pass through jpeg setting to raw files in LR like Fujifilm does. The already works in the Fotos app so it’s just code and a talk with Adobe.

6. Make all the button options available to the soft buttons on the home menu screen.

7. More options for the dial. I’d like profiles here, personally.

8. Change the auto/manual ISO switching behaviour on the new dial back to what the SL2 had.

9. Make the rear right click wheel customisable like the SL2.

10. The obvious AF improvements removing the beta tags.

11. Rock solid stability with memory cards.

12. An indicator in the top LCD when the camera is sleeping so we know.

13. Ability to lock the new dial and only the new dial.

14, Ability to customise which Leicons appear on the rear screen.

15. less degration of EVF resolution when shooting C-AF. I waould like to have full res even when shooting C-AF

16. if possible a little faster frame rate when shooting with full bit depth.

17. 4 button layout from original SL (oh...sorry.. that would not be possible via firmware)

Note that full bit depth does not improve IQ when shooting at higher ISOs, and high frame rates are mainly used with higher ISOs.

Full agree, but conversely, that would mean that the SL3 hurries up and concentrates on ”das Unwesentliche" ...

:D I thought that as the Leica SL3 is the »professional choice« - therefore has a different implementation and may reduce the images saved to only keep the "wesentliche" amount of images from a session. This reduces the burden of having unnecessary images to edit.

Oh, that's why I always get the message: "All pictures deleted, card formatted, cannot be restored" :)

Make it work so it's not Windows 98 with 16gb hdd - LAGGING
Make so it does not loose images
A,S,M letter bigger to top LCD
ISO DIAL - manual-auto...
Folder management
Voice memo
Ability to use CAF with Sigma EF adapter (we get phase af)
Autofocus!
EFCS
Rethink suspend/shutdown behaviour (indicator when in sleep)
Smaller raws to SD (compressed, mraw...)->faster write up
Fix bug if one changes user profile that changes filename, and camera is writing images, make so it  changes filename even before writing is finished

But Leica does not read these, well I have sent my wishes to them so lets hope :)

It's also intresting to see how we want different thing depending how we use cameras.

Just one thing: possibility to switch on the fly the AF settings like on Sony cameras.

Example: i'm using all the time the spot AF with AF-S... I press a button and it switch on the fly in AF-C with Eye Af until I keep pressing it. As simple as it is and in fact Canon and Nikon added this too finally. Just Leica is behind in this, for me as a professional, big missing point.

Yes. This is why I want profiles added to the new dial. So I can do the same thing (kind of) as the SL3 doesn’t have enough accessible buttons to do it with push and hold. You can name the SL3 profiles so I find it a fast and convenient way to have a few AF settings available quickly.

Maybe your way could be added to the joystick press in AF or the front two buttons? I use the button next to the joystick to re-centre the AF point.

p.s. What’s the email for Leica for firmware suggestions?

This has been a perennial irritation for me with Leica: no Leica camera that I have owned has had buttons one could customise with a toggle function: e.g. press once for AF:MF, Spot:Face, S-mode:A-mode etc. I have raised this in the past, but it seems fundamental to Leica firmware architecture: buttons can only be used to jump to the menu setting; they can't be used to actually change a menu setting.
