Leica T "Lens error"

My 9 years old Leica T woke up with “Lens error” message. Currently on firmware 1.9

Reset doesn’t help. Summicron-T 23mm f/2 ASPH never taken off the camera.

No sign of any hardware damage. Anyone encountered this before and any clues of how to fix this?

Start by cleaning the contacts of the lens and bayonet. If that does not help, it is a case for Leica.

Also check to see if the lens is mounted properly, I received this message on my CL when I had accidently touched the lens mountingbutton and the lens twisted slightly. Wentaway when I clicked it back in place.

the contacts of the lens is clean as new, and lens are properly & firmly mounted.

Given it's been 9 years, body and lens are way out of warranty. The fees send to Leica and costs associated with it doesn't make sense anymore.

I'm going to take my own adventure, stay tuned.

In my experience Leica often does not bother to repair TL lenses. My out of warranty 55-135  which fell apart  was replaced by a brand new one for a fraction of the new price.
