I've been seeing some ads that suggest that a Leica Q case will fit any one of the three Q models.

Anyone any idea if this is correct?

No, that is wrong. Note that the back buttons are on the right side of the screen on the Q3 wheras in the earlier Qs they are on the left. Just one difference in hardware design.

Thank you. I rather thought it was too good to be true. I hadn't looked carefully at the cameras – but I did think it was unlikely.

Half cases are being advertised in that way – certainly on eBay.

I suppose some people will take a bloody nose in it.

I looked carefully at all half-cases.

The only one I liked was the Oberwerth - very expensive but superb quality. I had some questions before ordering which were replied to within 20 minutes at the weekend too!.

It has access to the battery and SD card on the Q3 and has an aluminium insert which can be 'moulded' to the camera for a perfect fit.

The Leica half cases (protectors) may not be fully compatible/interchangeable across the range of all 3 Q’s. However, if you have an original Q, I do know that the Q2 protector fits perfectly.  This is a Q2 protector bought from Leica Store Manchester, for my Q, just after the Q2 came out. Now, about that gorgeous circular hood that came out for the Q3……
