Far too green in my eyes. I'll try fixed whitebalance on the Z9. But usually I don't use a fixed setting because the automatic white balance is perfect in almost every single shot. And I'll show a comparison between the automatic WB in the Nikon and in the M11.
jeri Posted October 28, 2023 Share #83 Posted October 28, 2023 UHS-I SD card owners beware of the V 2.0.1 firmware Well, I was tempted and did the firmware update (2.0.1). Everything was going smoothly, until I decided to view the photos that were previously on the SD card. To my surprise, I suddenly receive an error message - there is no information on the external SD card in the camera. Ok, maybe a little glitch in the system, I thought to myself. Well, I turned off the camera, pulled out the battery, and waited for about a minute. I then put everything back in place, turned the camera back on, and everything seemed to be working fine. At least that's what I thought, because even though I could view the images normally on the monitor, still a few seconds later, the same error message is received again on the camera monitor. And of course nothing works and you can't take a picture. It is important to note that in the default setting, the photos I take are saved on the external SD card. Then I remembered that Leica indicates that problems may develop when the camera is combined with UHS-I SD cards, and this is exactly the 'problematic' card that is in my camera. A memory card that until the last firmware, worked without any problems. Thank God I have another UHS-II type SD, with which everything seems to be working fine now. I hope that the latest firmware update will not open a new Pandora's box.

Download all current photos from SD Card Reformat the SD Card in camera Reformat the Internal Memory (new step with M11 due to internal memory) Export User Profiles to the newly formatted SD Card (just in case they somehow get corrupted in the upgrade process [old Leica SL issue and experience]) Upgrade the Firmware - (I now do this using the Leica Foto App and it has worked flawlessly) Hope that this helps. DadDadDaddyo Posted October 28, 2023 Share #85 Posted October 28, 2023 (edited) The release notes for 2.0.1 prompted me to make the jump from UHS-I to UHS-II cards. I'm not aware of having had any issues as a result of using the UHS-I card up till now, but the liner notes were more specific and explicit than any of the advice I recall from Leica before regarding SD cards. Received the new cards, formatted each with SD Card Formatter employing the 'overwrite' option, then formatted each card in-camera. The SD card was completely formatted (it is important to note that this is another card that I do not use, except for needs such as hardware upgrades, etc.), before the new firmware file was installed on it. After the installation, I returned the original SD card to the camera. As mentioned , the photographed material that was on the original UHS-I type SD card was not lost. It is there on the SD card. The only problem is that the camera, after installing the new firmware, sees the aforementioned SD card as empty. Thanks for your response.

The custom function buttons can now be programmed with a "Centre Frame" option that resets the LV cursor back to centre screen. Thanks so much for this. I didn't know it existed before. I programmed it to my back dial button, which wasn't used that very often. The top button enables focus aid now, and I can easily center back the focus point by pressing the back dial button. don daniel Posted October 29, 2023 Share #89 Posted October 29, 2023 Same cameras, but white balance set to "sunny". The Leica picture has got even more magenta (temperature: 5100, tint: +25!) , both pictures are too cold, because I did not take them in the golden hour, but right now on grey morning. You can correct the Nikon file (temperature: 5150, tint: +14!) by simply adjusting the temperature slider. It then becomes warm, but there is no magenta or green cast. But in the Leica pictures I have to adjust both sliders: temperature and tint. This is annoying! Welcome, dear visitor! elmars Posted October 29, 2023 Share #90 Posted October 29, 2023 That is strange. With my M11 the values for sunny are 5150 and +21 (from memory). With the friend's Nikons, the tint was also significantly different from yours. I don't really understand it that way. In any case, it remains that the tint on the M11 goes too much in the direction of magenta. 2

Gigamesh Posted October 29, 2023 Share #97 Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Started the firmware update on my M11. It's been no a good 15min of updating, did it take as long for you as well? What happens if it stalls somewhere in the update process? Will it go on until battery is drained? Should I plug in the usb to charge? When should I abort? scott kirkpatrick Posted October 29, 2023 Share #99 Posted October 29, 2023 Tracking down the focus spot and dragging it back from whatever corner it was hiding in was the rule in 1.6 and it is solved in several ways in 2.0.1. A little thing, but a real advance!

Unfortunately, this is a common behavior for m11, which it seems the manufacturer is not going to fix. I started carrying the Ricoh GRIII with me (it doesn't take up much space), first I take a quick frame using the Ricoh to get normal white balance values for the current lightning
