Visited the MTB world series in Leogang (Austria) to watch several of the races (Cross Country Short Track, Downhill, Cross Country Olympic). This was my first time doing spots photography and it was challenging, especially on the first day where I used my Leica M240. 2nd and 3rd day I took the Lumix S5II.

First series is from the short track women elite race that is restricted to the 40 best ranked riders. It's a 20 minute sprint race with low technical difficulty. Taken with M240+Summarit 75

Warming up. The camp and starting area is filled with the buzzing noise of the rollers

Downhill qualification runs. M240 + Elmarit 24 and Planar 50. Iso 1600 max. in the forest is limiting.

You can prefocus any of these shots because all of them are roughly taking the same line and you have 2-3 minutes to prepare for for the next rider.

Great series and you really feel the exhaustion. Let me know next time, I can try to join you.

Thanks. Sure. Lenzerheide (CH) will most likely be on the schedule in 2024 again or maybe Albstadt (D). There is also an event in Haute-Savoie in september but I have other plans for that month.
