I've read complains of purple fringing with a number of lenses, including the 35/1.4, the 90/2 APO and the 28/1.4.

Personally I am seeing lots of purple fringing with the 28/1.4 on the M11 that was simply not there with M10/M10-R bodies. I can't correct it in post.

Anyone expect this to be fixable in a FW update? Is Leica interested in fixing it?

From discussions and some tests a few months ago, it does seem that in part the increased resolution allows the M11 to capture the fringing that the lens causes more clearly.  Chromatic aberration is dependent on the lens, stronger at bigger apertures, and not dependent on exposure.  I forgot if anyone found any other part that was due to other sensor design or firmware aspects related to blooming.  On top of that there were some good examples of mixed light in the discussion below.

This issue has been acknowledged by Leica and should be addressed in a firmware update (link).

Cant wait for this particular update too, the noctilux shows more noticeable fringing than when used with M10-R, so yeah i believe it is very much resolvable

How effective is Adobe's Remove Chromatic Aberration in your examples?

Couldn't be better, even for the low resolution provided. Latest version of Lightroom, didn't take me 2 seconds.

It's not a camera, it's an exposure and lens issue. It can happen with fast lenses, nothing to worry about.

Do you have an image to show us? Only color fringing i found was through branches hiding the sun at f/1.4 here. Not sure to worry about that so far (M11, 35/1.4 FLE, f/1.4).

Funny, it feels to me as though the fringing, at least with the 28 'lux, was far worse earlier on.  Possible that I've altered my technique a little, but over the past couple of months the problem seems to have reduced itself.  At the M11 release I was even seeing significant fringing with the 50 'lux, something I had never consciously encountered before. After the firmware updates, things seem back to normal and I never notice it. Could possibly be related to Adobe fixing the bug related to applying lens corrections... dunno... but I'm a little surprised to hear this is still an issue for some.  I now largely see what LCT example above suggests, fringing in extreme situations; nothing I hadn't encountered previously with the 10 and 10-R.

I'll try and find some old examples later, my cursory glance shows Lightroom fixing them already and had struggles to undo what I use to see as the problem.

Interesting, thank you. It does nothing (I mean NOTHING) for me on the RAW files - I'm using Lightroom Classic, latest version. I wonder why it works for you on jpg images...

I found exactly the same however I use C1. Strange. (Not complaining mind you, at the start on the 28 Lux it was really noticeable)
