Caribana festival, Toronto

M11 21/2.8 pre-ASPH @ f4 iso 64

I picked this lens up from Leica SF two weeks ago and used it for 99% of my 600 frames during the festival.

I used the 21 Bright line finder with rangefinder focusing. No chimping. Fixed ISO, aperture priority with evaluative metering set at +0.3. Came home with 55% battery life remaining. Very impressive.

I can definitely get used to it. One of the things I really liked about it was that it demands that you get close to your subject and for me being a 50's person it was a very different and yet rewarding way to work.

For sure. The M11 sensor ... is different. Some lenses perform really well on it, others don't. Glad that the 75/1.4 does well.

Thorsten, can you please tell, which lenses behave well on the M 11 in your view ?

I love this image. So classic. Beautiful light and the post production rendering is magnificient. May I suggest making a large print of this. Have a good day. Regards. Carl

Thanks, Carl 😀 The picture hangs in the size 1.20 m x 0.90 m on my wall and is razor sharp. One of the few moments where the 60 MP pays off.

Best Regards Stefan

Leica M11 * Leica Summicron M 2.0/50 (V) * Capture One Pro 20 * SEP3

(The old but still current 50 Summicron fits perfectly to the Leica M11)
