Very nice.  What is the museum's policy on taking photo's other than with a smartphone?

I gave in to temptation, just could not wait blame it on Johno he changed my mind this morning.
not a huge fan of the finish feels like shark skin. Huge fan of the weight it is very light.  I do not feel any shutter lag and the live on does not bother me at all. Wake up time is same as the M10r.  The metering is superior to the M10/R.  It is very accurate. The menu is very nice . The function buttons are also very well executed.

as for IQ. And DR.  Still early need some more time with is to really test.  The rear LCD is very nice in resolution

but it’s not flush with the top and base at all sticks out about .7 mm or so

Lucky that Leica didn't charge you a premium on top of the regular price for the special shark skin. :)

But the children do not, only the grandfather.

I think that's tricky in this day and age. Especially when the children find out later that.....

I think the problem there is not with the kids, or the photos of the kids (which are just fine) but with the dark mentality about exploiting children which comes from the twisted world we live in circa 2022! The pictures seem innocent enough I love the photos because they instantly remind me of when I  too was a kid ( a long time ago). Thanks for posting them!

A genarl question: has anyone experimented with the binned resolutions? (36MP, 18 MP?) What are the impressions (the higher DR is not my first benefit I think of). The fact that the 18 MP is choosen, might it be aimed to mimic the M9 camera? Then I'ld like to see the rendering!

Or is it better to start a separate thread about it?

Very nice and inspiring photos you already shared here!
I wanna share one of my first attempts with my new Leica M11 paired with my beloved Summilux 35mm f1,4 asph.
Its was taken at my hometown Nuremberg at the so called "Pegnitzauen". Compared to my former Leica M10P I love the colours even a little bit more from the Couple M11, Summilux 35mm. What do you think about my first attempt?
If you wanna see some pics of my unpacking, you can also visit my Blog (here) where I try to tell stories about my life with photography and Leica.
Have a nice day, Chris.

I was excited to view this post as I have a black M11 on order. I realize that most of the images posted here are test shots, however, mostly all seem soft and lacking the detail that I would expect to see. These could have been taken with any camera costing way less than a Leica. I'm hoping that the image size posting limitation of this website is the culprit.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Tonal range is amazing and the flat looking files can be brought to life in LR/C1. Looking forward to your pictures and your post-processing.

Edit - a couple of subscribers to Sean Reid’s review site are reporting best colors, yet, in a digital M.

I honestly don’t understand the “lack of detail” posts here.

How are you determining that from max 2480px web resized images?

I also don’t understand the “flat” comments. It’s as if some Leica shooters here are seeing decent dynamic range for the first time in their life and don’t know what it is. Flat is good. Flat means latitude. Punchy or contrasty means loss of information and banding. You can go from flat to contrasty with a flick of a slider. The opposite will cause issues. Any photographer or videographer should know that.
