The Noctilux 1.2 Reborn - First Impression

Finally after a long wait I got my copy of the new Noctilux 1.2. Since I dont have the original lens, I can’t compare them. But this 11686 model is solidly made and feels comfortable in my hand when mounted to the M10-D. Focus throw is quite long so fine focusing is possible. It’s a little bit heavier than my 50 lux asph (405gr vs 329gr) but much lighter than the 50 noct 0.95 which weighs a solid 767gr. It is shorter than the 50 lux by a few mm but has bigger diameter. In short this lens could be used to replace the 50 lux asph in my daily shooting.

Color rendering is fantastic on my M10-D! I reminds me of the M9 CCD color. Here are some photos of the M10-D / 50 noct 1.2 combo as well as some quick first shots of myself and my daughter. Both images are jpeg out of camera. I cleaned up my daughter’s pimples a bit so as not to embarass her.
