For me it’s like having an elegant vintage black Aston or Ferrari and deciding to add gold pinstripes and window frames. Beyond tacky. But to each his own.

Or a front to rear black and white checker stripe, well known to make the car go faster................

I think I could offer this package for competitive 5998.- bucks (VAT not included) for 2 months of intense authentic brassing. 10% discount for the second BP. 🙂😉

I had in mind an authentic but cheaper technique, take a heavy object, such as a $150 Nikon F, and dangle it on the same shoulder as the M10R, it works every time and can be genuinely called 'wear'.

I’m really intrigued by the SEM 21

Highly recommended. But mine has turned out to be a bit like the Noctilux — felt compelled to buy and try, but turned out to be a once or twice per year lens. YMMV.

I like them sometimes. I loved the image of the Q2. I like the SEM21 photos I see. I think I will like the elmarit 28 coming my way. But I do have a sweet spot for more vintage images, so ill definitely look into the super angulon. Insnt that the one that can't fit on the M10 though ?

IIRC the Super-Angulon’s rearmost element didn’t play well with the M5 due to M5’s swing up light meter. Old Timers will doubtless confirm or refute. Shouldn’t be a problem with digital Ms.

I could be wrong but IIRC there was change in design of the SA around that time to accommodate the M5 issue (see edit below)*. In any case internal light meters shouldn’t be relied upon with the SA, or at least a correction should be made after the reading.

* Edit: from the wiki...

Variants - Chrome until 1967 then all black; cutout version to fit M5 and CL from SN 2473251.

No.
It’s more like reaping holes into some new jeans to make them look old. And that sound acceptable to me.

Except JimmyCheng’s version looks more like perfectly shaped cuts around each knee and pocket, and still bright blue. Not old looking…just bad looking.

Hence my opinion. Much like my thoughts on bokeh frenzy… usually a bad look, and no substitute for putting in the work.

Ouch! ... I wouldn't say usually a bad look, just quick, easy. But I have to agree about the amount of time and effort - and usually a good dose of luck - required to capture a scene using light and form. Quick and easy seem to be the key words now though, much like taking a file to an M3 to give it an instant used look. Oh, we're back where we started :)

Exactly how I meant it… quick and easy (plus the typically bad look…often out of focus subject, tiring background bubbles, etc).

Took a pic of my copy with zero wear. Perfect condition atm.
Photo consists of 1 M camera, 1 homemade stencil, 1 bronze dress from da wife, and a 50mm APO Black Paint edition.

This looks delicious. I am not of a fan of fake brassing.

Naturally aging and brassing would probably be the best and I’d agree to that. But the issue I have is that I rotate the use of my cameras. Currently, I have over 15 bodies with the majority of them being limited edition Ms - many even more special than this BP M. Meaning, I’d chose to use those instead of the new camera. Even if I add this into the rotation and use it equally among the other Ms, I’d at most get to use it once or maybe twice a month. At this rate, I think the paint will outlast even my lifespan lol.
