I agree, just make people buy new cameras, keeps the money flowing.

Present moment is only approaching 24mths after the launch of the SL2. The typical timeline for a new camera replace is like 4 years from Leica.

I still hope for a “timely update”. But it helps that the 150-600 is now available. I have now other things to try out, this distracts from the missing update. Glad that Sigma finally realized they should also care more for their own people, even though most other platforms bring more revenue. Maybe they bring more tele zooms for mirrorless ? (Like 120-300, 300-800, 60-600, or a 2/24-35).

Regarding af, has anybody made a comparison with the fp L ? It has pdaf, but is hampered by the missing mechanical shutter. I can still not judge if AF is better than in the SL2. The sensor is of course interesting.

No Perspective Control on V3.

Implementing Perspective Control on the M series and not on the SL2  is very unconsistent.

I am disappointed.

I've tried it after downloading it onto my M10R. Can be tricky to use. I do not miss it as I have been using the post processing function in LR long before it became available on M10/R.

First impressions: More precise and responsive AF, nice image overlay, good new hi-light oriented exposure, perspective correction doesn't interest me. I hope I'm wrong but the camera heats up a lot on the right side of the base, the side opposite the grip.

Ok updated to 3.0 but as soon as I set the date, it went into updating my lens firmware (24-90).  thought I had the latest lens firmware...anyone else done that??

now reports lens firmware 2.1. whereas the latest on the website is 2.0.        cool !

AF so much better once lens updated too !
