Steven Posted March 4, 2021 Author Share #65 Posted March 4, 2021 Got many messages asking me about how it blocks at 0,7m. It doesn’t block. there is a very light haptic feedback at 0,7m to let you know you’re entering close focus range, and then you continue turning and you must turn on live view view to focus, unless you’re capable of zone focusing. it’s an excellent mechanism. The only downside is that the focus throw at close range is really long. to get to 0,3M you must turn the focus ring almost 360 degrees away from infinity.

sebben Posted March 4, 2021 Share #70 Posted March 4, 2021 Well this made the old 35mm asph Summicron more attractive. 50APO looks very elegant, so I’m not sure why the decided to jump the shark with this one. I’m not sold on an M lens with a 360degree focus throw. Next it will come with AF!
strohscw Posted March 4, 2021 Share #71 Posted March 4, 2021 The problem is, that right now I am collecting reasons not to buy the lens. I already have the SLX28 and the APO50 so I don´t need the APO35 in-between, and then in 2 to 3 weeks, . . .
evikne Posted March 4, 2021 Share #72 Posted March 4, 2021 Is the ribbed focus ring actually usable without the tab? It seems quite wide and solid.

Yes you can use it without the tab. From 0.7 to 0.3 to throw is bigger than from 0.7 to infinity. i will post photos without the hood in a few minutes. Steven Posted March 4, 2021 Author Share #74 Posted March 4, 2021 The below 0,7 area is grey, vs the usual orange for the rest of the range. Welcome, dear visitor! The ribbed focus ring on my (standard) 50mm Summilux ASPH was more like a gimmick and not really usable. This one seems a lot better.
Steven Posted March 4, 2021 Author Share #77 Posted March 4, 2021 With and without the hood. Is that what you wanted to see ? The good thing is that unlike the 28 lux, it comes with a protective ring to screw in place of the hood if you choose not to use it. Welcome, dear visitor! elmars Posted March 4, 2021 Share #79 Posted March 4, 2021 It is not ugly, but it is no beauty (unlike the 50 mm Apo). Too much of the Summarit/Q look, which I don´t like very much.

It’s closer to the length of the Lux than the length of the cron v5/6. it is, however, but thinner in diameter.
