This lens is so sharp that taking advantage of motion blur, reflections etc. to remove some of the clinical look is a very smart move! It almost looks like an old Noctilux photo turned the right way. 😉

Thank you. This picture is from quite a few years ago, when my M Monochrom was still fairly new. I'm pretty sure I ran this through Silver Efex Pro, which can give images a heavy-handed look it you're not careful. And you're right - some of the modern aspherical lens designs can often use a bit of taming on their razor sharpness.

I would like to post more photos taken with my Karbe lenses but the JPEGs export from my SL2-S being around 25MB I cannot post them here. I find the 1.95mb limit too constraining and the photos don't end up showing anything worth posting.
Can anyone recommend a solution to me to post nice quality photos ? I use Lightrromm on Mac.. Thanks.

Make a preset like this:

Such a pity that the photo looks so blurry. It really doesnt do justice to this lens. I'm really not encouraged to post photos on the forum. Even instagram stories look better than this. Too bad.

To view an image in full size and max quality, you must click on it to view in light box. It’s a bit cumbersome though.

https://www.jpegmini.com/creators and your problems will end.

Use the free trial. My 2480x (longest side) photos at 72dpi to post here, they are around 300-1500kB each. Thanks to JpegMini

This looks EXCELLENT !!!! Thank you so much.

I'm glad, my pleasure. Seriously, it's a game changer app, you'll see. I suggest the suite (app + plugin). With the plugin you can export and decrease MB, using LR or C1, in one step only.

And I use the app for all the small daily stuffs, you know.

I don't have the M9 any more, but it converted to mono better than any other colour digital camera I've had.

From way back in the summer of 2012. I shot this on my Leica M9-P, with a 50mm Summilux ASPH.

It wasn't shot as an upright, this is a heavy crop from a landscape picture. Probably a little under 2/3 of the original image.

For me, it shows how good the 50mm Summilux ASPH is. On the TIFF file of this, you can make out each individual drop of water, and the look of sheer joy on the face of the boy in the middle.

I agree. I personally think M9 was able to squeeze (in the right circumstances) the best behaviour out of LUX 50 ASPH.
