Very nice site, Rob.  I'm guessing you play jazz.  I've had and played many archtops, but only owned one - A Gretsch double pickup Anniversary model with Bigsby tail piece.  All the rest have been six and 12 string flat top acoustics.

I play some jazz, some classical, this and that. I teach guitar for a living, these days with Zoom students across the globe. From your website, I see you haven't visited Scotland yet. It's definitely worth a visit with camera in hand 🙂

I thought it looked good, and they don't come any better than a Benedetto. So, this is the smaller version of La Venezia, my dream guitar. Benedettos and Leicas were made for each other. You might be interested in my archtop blog: https://archtopguitar.net

Really nice site Rob. I just bought Jonathan Stout’s “Pick It And Play it" MP3 album.

Scotland is stunning! Haven't been there for a long time, but I remember lugging a Rollei 6008, and tripod and a bunch of lenses around Scotland. A gust of wind blew the tripod and camera over, so I spend the trip taking photos with a little Rollei 35. Our son and daughter graduated from High and college the same year, and traveled around Scotland together - their graduation present.

Very nice... but, oh dear, they make me feel a little more ancient:-) Sure, yes, that's a museum but I still have and use some of the milk churns from neighbouring farms. For instance my kitchen waste 'bin' is a full size milk churn into which (long ago) I made a former the exact size of a regular swing bin liner. Around our cottage there are more of those packing trunks - some still with our own shipping labels affixed (P&O, B.I. etc). I've known them from all the way back to my childhood (spent travelling overseas). My wife and I sill use my old shipping trunks for storage and even display today. Your old subject matter really suits the new high tech Q2M, albeit portraying my own stuff as being ...MUSEUM EXHIBITS:-/ I'll go away and mutter quietly by the fire (while pratting around in near darkness using my Q2M trying to image the glowing logs through its ceramic fire-glass panels just using available light and some reflections of the Christmas tree lights. Well done though, Jay🙂 (mutter mutter)

I can finally contribute to the thread I started..

Breakfast with the Q2M. Although the lens is sharp, there is no need to always exploit that. I like the soft focus here. ISO 320, f/2.8, Spot, 1/50"

Magnificent! I think this is the most beautiful image I’ve seen from this wonderful little camera. The simplicity and gorgeous soft tonal values combine to make this image very special.

I think this is what Brent has been telling me for some time. I've been so captivated by the resolution and sharpness I see in the Q2M images that the capability to create sublime beauty like this completely escaped me. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!?

Just experimenting...soft focus, decreased Clarity in LR, added grain. The tin was not properly lit, just the light from my iMac screen falling on it. The white handle belongs to a letter opener. I love the sharpness of this lens, but want to control it when I need to. Macro, f/2.8, ISO 12,500, 1/500.

Rather gruesome road kill from my walk today.  I walked the same lane a week ago and it wasn't there . . .

Looks like some buzzards had a good meal out of it.
