Sorry for questioning the photo:

When I look at the hair - the patch just right of the coat's sleeve for instance - it looks as if there was "clipping", no structure in the white patches. In other parts I can still see hairs and not only white, but some parts bother me. Am I wrong?

Did you view in Lightbox (i.e. clicked on the photo)? Viewed there it all looks fine to me, no obvious clipping.

Yes, I used the Lightbox.

No clipping at all in this image according to LR.

But honestly, it wouldn’t bother me if there was as I like the image, which is all that matters.

I think the highlight drama is a little overblown (he he) so far this is the best Monochrom by far (in my opinion of course) and I’ve used all three extensively.

Can’t agree more. Who or what started this? Is this because people expect DR to the sky from the M10M and want to test that before they pay that glamorous price? Bright clean highlights belong to good images, but it depends on the whole tonal scale whether it works

I'd like to have some hairs to split in the white patches - though i don't mind that you like it.

I could have used the highlight slider but chose not to. If that helps your purchase decision.

M10M, ISO 160, Summicron M 35mm ASPH.  This is one of the earliest ASPH lenses, and while not classical, is not as sharp as some of the current ASPH lenses. This was f/4.0

Camera arrived late yesterday, so this is my first time out with it. Sorry for the unfortunate subject matter. There's really nothing remarkable about the first image...until you consider that it was cropped from the second one. ISO 3200, 90mm Elmarit, 1/000th @ f 2.8.

I neglected to point out when I initially posted this that Pence is not actually making a salute. He is waving to school children because he was speaking in favor of charter schools and several busloads of kids had been brought in to hear him.

How come he's making that salute? It's certainly illegal to do that in Germany – and in France I think. Mind you I think I saw Jon Cleese do it once in Fawlty Towers
