Autumn 2020 - since in this period between 1st and 2nd lockdown there were barely opportunities to travel to exciting photographic locations, I decided to have a photo project close to my front door: landscape photograpy in the Eifel region in the Western part of Germany. Some of the pics (mostly taken with SL2, some with Q Type 116) have been shown here before, but I like to present entire series. Appreciate if you take the time and have a look.

Pink variation of a blossom of a christmas cactus - with SL2 and Sigma 105 Macro. This lens is really excellent and has a modest price. Background was black velvet.

Really impressive photographs very well presented.  They appear more ‘alive’ somehow richer when shown in your set.  A real advert for your area.

+1

Wonderful images in a beautiful setting. I also fully concur with Sjz that showcasing the images in this fashion enhances the viewing experience.

I particularly love the subtle color in the sky in the first image and how it balances with the gold / yellow hues. Similarly some of the photos at the end share the same aesthetic.

One minor thought for your consideration. In the middle of the presentation some of the photos the colors appear slightly over saturated (sky in particular), at least when compared to the more subtle / delicate tones in other images. I was wondering if taking down the saturation just a touch, might provide a more uniform and even more pleasing overall look. Just a thought...

Aesthetic tweaks are very personal with the photographers artistic interpretation being all that really matters. Hope you don't mind my sharing this random thought.

It was a great idea to get out during break in lockdown with a specific photo project in mind. Need to do same sometime soon.

Thanks for sharing!

Perhaps slim, but, as always, lovely. It has a bit of a painted/filmic quality to it.

Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90 f/2.8-4 ASPH @90,  ISO100,  F8, 1/250s

Waiting for the best reflections.

Some days all I see are warm colours and poor compositions.

Exactly!  In this instance, less (buttons, dials, levers, options) is more!  Actually the two main showstoppers for me were lack of R lens profiles (can specify FL only) when using a teleconverter, and no genuine playback magnification in the EVF.

Congratulations.  I'm finding the weight of the SL2 worth the cost of the ease of use and quality one gets out of it.  I don't understand why the rumored SL2-S can't still have the higher res sensor tough!
