SL2 w/Lumix S Pro 70-200/2.8. Very impressed with the sharpness and build quality of this lens.

Darren, I purchased the Lumix X Pro 70-200 a month ago, hoping it would fill my needs for an L-mount telephoto, and it does just that at a fraction of the cost of the Leica 90-280. So far, I have not been disappointed in anything about the lens. It is sharp, it is quick, and it is solidly built. Thanks for sharing this very nice portrait.

Here are a couple from last night above Emerald Bay, California (Lake Tahoe).  The first is just a nice sunset picture I took while I was waiting for comet NEOWISE to appear. The second is a 30s image of the comet.  I didn’t setup in quite the right place for the comet, so framing is off a bit, but it’s a decent start.  We’ll see if I can improve on it over the next couple nights (as well as stacking multiple images rather than a single 30s exposure).

Both pictures were taken with an SL2.  The sunset image was with the 45mm Sigma and the second was with the 90-280 set at about 120.

Great shot of the comet.  Can you give more details on how you acquired it? Even at 10 seconds I get arcing stars.  And my location is not very dark due to city lights in the area. Thanks for your help.

Isn't there a rule-of-thumb ... 500 divided by focal length at ISO 100.. gives exposure time before get star trail movement. Is that right?

Lovely picture set in context...always important in my view ...leave the close up comet pictures to the astronomical observatories.

Unfortunately not for us Southern Hemisphere astronomers 🙃

I just took this shot while standing on the front porch of my home.  It was NOT processed in B&W!  SL2 with SL24-90.  Thanks, Mark
