Great shot of the comet.  Can you give more details on how you acquired it? Even at 10 seconds I get arcing stars.  And my location is not very dark due to city lights in the area. Thanks for your help.

Sure.  I used a telescope mount with the camera in place of the telescope.  That let me take up to one minute images with tight, round stars (the longest exposure the SL2 allows at ISO 1600). As it got darker I worked my way from 8a to 20s to one minute. I then stacked the images manually in Photoshop using the stars as reference points.  I took some separate one minute exposures afterwards with the drive on the telescope mount turned off so I would have sharp images of the foreground.

There is just enough motion in the comet with respect to the background that this image might benefit from three stacks—stars, comet, and foreground.  I haven’t gone that far yet because I am on vacation with just an iPad for processing. That limits me to Lightroom and Photoshop Mobile.  Maybe when I am home...

I have changed several Leica lenses but I never thought to change my beloved Noctilux 50 f1 v4 (a few years ago I had the 50 0.95 that I sold without any regrets).

With the dense sensor of the SL2 I feared that my "old" Noctilux might lose its magic, fortunately my fears were unfounded 😉

Even the simplest photo, with this lens, becomes something magical...

Dying trees- parts of the wood are dying because of the dryness and a special beetle called „bark beetle“. It‘s a special problem of the northern germany hills called „Harz mountains“

This Photo was a longer exposure- and i lifted the cam by taking this pic.

Sorry to read this.  South Africa is experiencing a similar infestation by a species of bark beetle called, the polyphagous shot-hole borer which is one of about 20 bark beetle species worldwide. This species of beetle has been introduced from SE Asia, it aggressively targets a wide variety of healthy trees. The city of Johannesburg with over 10 million trees & considered to be one of the largest man-made forests in the world, has been hardest hit.  Estimates are that the city could lose up to 30% of its trees to this beetle.
