jaeger Posted September 2, 2019 Share #41 Posted September 2, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can see 6bit on 50mm f/1.1 but it's sad they don't do it anymore. I ordered it and arriving tomorrow, it would be my first 7Art lens. I'm hoping it renders vintage look....
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Hi jaeger, Take a look here 7artisans 75mm f/1.25 lens for Leica M-mount specifications and sample photos. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted September 3, 2019 Share #42 Posted September 3, 2019 When a 75 mm 1:1.25 lens comes with 62 mm filter size then it is more like a 71 mm 1:1.3 lens. Saves quite some bulk, weight, and cost.
jaeger Posted September 3, 2019 Share #43 Posted September 3, 2019 (edited) received the lens and having serious problems.... 1) Forward focus at about half inch at minimal focus and a foot at 10 feet away. The 75mm focus ring design is not adjustable like other 7artisians. 2) It has excessive internal dust like someone had a haircut and groom their dogs in the factory, different shapes and different types of dust too - it was quite ridiculous. 3) dirty focus blade, one of the blades has marks on it like someone spread food and wipe it. returning it immediately, may wanna try the voigtlander instead. I guess it is kind of too cheap to install proper QA. Nonetheless sad to hear that! The Voigtlander 75 1.5 is a real gem!!

I think it's the business (or owners) that doesn't have the pride of their product and that's why.
jakontil Posted September 5, 2019 Share #46 Posted September 5, 2019 Im skipping this 75mm 7arts and opted for the voigtlander instead. i’m quite happy with the 50mm with the codes, but i guess the softness and bokeh “characters” were too much to swallow for a 75mm FL
Leica001 Posted January 4, 2021 Share #47 Posted January 4, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just picked up a mint copy, secondhand, on everybody's not so favourite auction site. Seller detailed it was sent back as it was soft wide open. I went to pick it up and indeed it was soft wide open, but then took another picture at wide open using Liveview and it was surprisingly sharp. I've notice you get glow on highlights just before and after the plane of focus, with the plain of focus sharp - this sounds like the feedback that was given from 7artisans earlier in the thread. I can live with it as I'm shooting on an M10 Monochrom so no colour issues. I'm so chuffed with my purchase especially since I got it for only £175. It didn't come with the hex screw so I can only use it with Liveview as clearly it needs to be adjusted for the rangefinder and is what the original owner must not have known. This and the 35ZM1.4 have given me a complete set to cover all my needs. If someone could. give me an idea as to what size hex key it requires I'd be very grateful

Rather a simple, but very small, slotted screwdriver.
Leica001 Posted January 4, 2021 Share #49 Posted January 4, 2021 Thought I heard Mattias Burling say hex on his review. I'll check it tomorrow under some better light. Thanks

Thanks I checked. I’m told it needs a #3 Torx. They must have changed it from their other lenses.
BrianS Posted January 4, 2021 Share #51 Posted January 4, 2021 It is a 1mm Hex wrench used to adjust the RF cam, this came with my 75/1.25 lens. If you want to remove the M-Mount, you use a Torx. This is not included, and probably not what you want to do.
BrianS Posted January 5, 2021 Share #52 Posted January 5, 2021 (edited) 7Artisans 75/1.25, wide-open on the M9, after adjusting the RF Cam. Welcome, dear visitor! This lens was better than I thought it would be. Low-Light, focus on a fast-moving Subject: I felt obliged to provide sample images and specifications... Leica001 Posted January 7, 2021 Share #54 Posted January 7, 2021 A few tips when calibration the lens: Being of Sonnar design, when calibrating you have options as at f1.25 the peak zone of sharpness and the peak zones of high contrast are at different points. If your calibrate for peak sharpness (which is very sharp) you get enormous CA around edges on the focal plane, with high contrast on the planes before and after it. Looking a the image as a whole without zooming in the actual sharp area will look blurry because of the CA and the high contrast area will look in focus. Also when using focus peaking, these are the edges that will be picked up. If you calibrate for the edges of high contrast the zones of sharpness will be on a different focal plane. Calibrating somewhere in the middle yielded an excellent image that was both high in contrast and very decently sharp at 1.25. The lens is very impressive and can be shot wide open with no issues
