kepstein Posted February 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) What frame lines will this bring up, is the best way to compose with LiveView when using this lens? Thanks, Ken
Advertisement Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Hi kepstein, Take a look here LEICA ELMARIT-M 1:2,8/21 mm ASPH. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bmills Posted February 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 28, 2019 If I'm not mistaken, you'd see the 28/90mm framelines. Live view is the best/only way I've seen to do any sort of composition with a 21mm where you require any degree of accuracy. Of course, using the EVF is THE best solution, but without purchasing additional equipment, Live View is your friend!
AndreasG Posted February 28, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 28, 2019 Yes, you see the 28/90mm framelines. I use my Elmarit 2,8/21 (pre ASPH) without Live View, the 28mm frame gives me a fair indication for the composition - finally I get more than I see. derleicaman Posted March 1, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 1, 2019 I sold my 21/2.8 Elmarit ASPH after acquiring the WATE. As noted above, the EVF will give most accurate framing. However, on the run as most travel situations are, I use the Live View rear display with grid lines. Quick and accurate enough. If you are using a tripod, either Live View display works just fine.
M11 for me Posted March 1, 2019 Share #5 Posted March 1, 2019 I do know, what the b ackground of the question really is. Maybe my comment fits: With the 21mm lens I look at the 28mm frame lines and after some experience I learned how much wider 21mm is compared to 28mm. So I need no LV or additional finder. Ronazle Posted March 1, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) The Voigtlander 15-35mm Zoom Finder while a little large and, to some not aesthetically pleasing, is quite accurate and hence useful. Although somewhat pricey, that is not the case using Leica prices as a reference. I tested mine at various focal length settings and found it quite accurate, bright and usable with my eyeglasses. In short a very nice product. It has multiple sensor size settings. Regards, Ron Edited March 1, 2019 by Ronazle
luoyiigsnrr Posted March 7, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 7, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am practicing to frame 21mm/3.4 properly in OVF of M10D too. EVF is the alternative but it consumes battery and M10D looks augly when mounted with it. People also say M10D is no longer a rangefinder when you use an EVF. I agree with them😀
