And all this for a around 8,000 euros – without a lens. What a crazy, beautiful, exciting yet costly niche. 😁 »Yesterday´s steadiness The integrated, fold-out thumb rest« — Now I definitely won’t tell any of my friends that my M10-D is a digital camera. They think I'm using an analog camera since the M8 anyway.

earleygallery Posted October 24, 2018 Share #256 Posted October 24, 2018 How does one use the lever thumb rest and the thumb rest incorporated on the back of the top plate? I guess there's probably some people with two thumbs on the right hand? 2
willeica Posted October 24, 2018 Share #257 Posted October 24, 2018 I don't like the term 'analog'. It should just be film. 'Analog' was adopted only after digital arrived to mean 'not digital' for people who did not know what film was. I don't accept the term 'mirrorless' either and as for 'files' instead of photos, this has me reaching for a shotgun. 'Digi-babble' has truly taken over. While a lot of folks think that any Leica M is a film camera, the only way for a photographer to get the real film experience is to use a film camera. Anything else is just 'let's pretend', but marketing people , including those at Leica, are good at selling dreams and illusions. I presume they have done their market research on this one. sebben Posted October 24, 2018 Share #258 Posted October 24, 2018 Would be nice if the made the thumb rest optional. My other question is why is the smaller thumb hump and wheel still there? They could have removed that as well and made it as minimal as possible.

ramarren Posted October 24, 2018 Share #260 Posted October 24, 2018 My note to each of the ten Leica dealers who sent me notice of the new model this morning: Quote You can tell your contacts at Leica that the only time I'm ever going to be interested in an M10-D is when they offer a model without that stupid faux film wind lever on it. All those stupid things do is get in my way. I put up with them on film cameras as a necessity, I DON'T WANT ONE ON MY DIGITAL CAMERA. At all. EVER.
