rcleaver Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1281 Posted June 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had ordered my M10 from Camtec Photo in Montreal on March 8. My camera is being shipped out later today. They had estimated a 6-8 week wait time when I had placed the order. Actual wait time was 12 weeks. Looking forward to unboxing the camera.

Eric1 Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1282 Posted June 2, 2017 Anybody get a black m10 from BH recently? I heard they may be getting some in this week.
davidhogan Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1283 Posted June 2, 2017 Not me. Ordered black M10 from B&H on evening of 1/18. Still waiting patiently (sort of). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
louster Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1284 Posted June 2, 2017 Anybody get a black m10 from BH recently? I heard they may be getting some in this week. Nope, ordered back in March and no word. Just checked my credit card company to see if B&H charge had been added and it has not. Back when I placed the order, I guessed the arrival date would be June 8, 2017. Maybe I guessed wrong year;-)
6bit Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1285 Posted June 2, 2017 I had an order on 1/20 but cancelled. You are going to have to move to a small dealer if you really want a Black M10. Leica doesn't seem to be budging on sending out a few units to any one dealer. They will eventually but that day isn't upon us yet.
Eric1 Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1286 Posted June 2, 2017 Ok thanks for updates. 1/18 wow, that was like launch date. I always thought BH was a major player in camera market but i guess not. Im cool with waiting though. I decided to keep BH order and if it comes next year so be it. Maybe having a later model will lessen the chance of a bad sensor or something else wrong with it. marcg Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1287 Posted June 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you are in the UK then you might like to consider trying Clifton Cameras in Gloucestershire. I ordered the silver M10 and in fact they have just offered me a choice between a silver and a black. I changed my mind and took the black one. However, that suggested to me that they may have some stock. I put down a 5 pound returnable deposit about three months or so ago. When the camera arrived, it didn't quite fit in with my credit card date and so they were happy to hang onto it for a couple of weeks, which helped me out a lot. This is the second Leica I have bought from this company and it's the fourth camera I bought from them in about eight years. They may not have the Leica service area et cetera of some of the major Leica stores, but they seem very friendly and efficient – and also, any company which only wants a very small deposit and is prepared to return it if you find a camera elsewhere, gets my money.
S.Rolf Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1288 Posted June 2, 2017 "Maybe having a later model will lessen the chance of a bad sensor or something else wrong with it." My thoughts exactly as I ordered (paid in full) my black M10 from B&H on 04/24. I'm OK with the wait if it means getting everything right. Actually putting any product an extensive beta test is the only way to sort things out.

Or, Leica could be using up all of the good sensors and the longer you wait, the more likely you are to get rejected rubbish.
Eric1 Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1290 Posted June 2, 2017 Or, Leica could be using up all of the good sensors and the longer you wait, the more likely you are to get rejected rubbish. Yeah, that makes sense in an alternative universe where products get worse over time.

Yeah, my guess is there pushing more models out the door now and than normally would which probably increases the likelihood of errors. I know people don't believe errors happen but they do. I had to send back two different lenses that were not right, even though they were inspected by a Leica technician. Im sure there are imperfect M's floating out there right now that will need fixed. pedaes Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1292 Posted June 2, 2017 Your guess is your guess, but if you mean they are (there) at full production capacity you are probably correct. Are you sure Leica is the brand for you?

Are you sure Leica is the brand for you? Um im not using Leica for the brand. Im not into brands really. I would shoot hassleblad instead but the camera isn't as nice in the hands as an M. Ultimately I just want to use Leica Glass which renders best on and M.

If that is the reason you want to use an M rangefinder camera body I suspect you are going to be sorely disappointed.
Jager Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1297 Posted June 2, 2017 There can be an advantage in waiting a few months after a new model is released. The very early model M-240's had a strap lug issue which Leica didn't recognize until it had been in production a few months. All those early cameras had to be returned to Leica to address that problem. And, of course, there was the infamous magenta issue with the M8 which - although it didn't prompt a hardware change to the camera itself - did prompt Leica to begin shipping IR filters with each camera. MEB Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1298 Posted June 2, 2017 I put my name on the waiting list at the Leica Store in Boston on May 9. I told them I had no preference as to color (actually, I prefered black but was willing to change). I was called late last week that they had a silver for me and I received it today! I'm glad I took the silver because it is really beautifully done and I'm delighted. I'm going to buy a lottery ticket on my way home this evening. So you're saying Leica Lenses like Summilux line aren't very good. Wow.
Eoin Posted June 2, 2017 Share #1300 Posted June 2, 2017 I think you miss-understood what he meant. You can use Leica M lenses on many bodies and get exceptional results. The point you made about using a M to get the best results flies in the face of why many others choose an M, namely the rangefinder perspective and the smaller size.
