Yes, but, frankly, such a lens in SM with an undisputable pedigree of "factory original" could be a collector's dream...

 

That was my point. The pedigree though would have to be undisputable which would by now, I imagine, be extremely difficult given the vagueness of records and potential for falsifying paperwork.

We are talking lat 1960s, so Noctilux only a wet dream I think, lenses labelled Canada included 35 Summicron 8 element and Summilux 35mm original, not sure what others. I don't remember we sold very many, most people wanted to trade in their 'outdated' screw thread cameras for Ms.

I bought an M3 mount Summicron 35, which I still have and use, because it was made in Canada it was only $8 more than a German made Summaron which had import tarifs.

Well, the serial originally referenced in this thread has found a new home in California.  I'm fine with it, and me, being referred to as oddities.  I hope to put a roll through it soon.
