It also returns to the metering indicator as soon as you half-press the shutter release.

MarkP Posted July 7, 2016 Share #83 Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) Lovely camera, but I have to shoot an entire roll of film at the same ISO, then develop the sodding thing and scan it. ...and dare I ask how many unprocessed rolls of film you now lying around in that drawer in your desk? :-) Edited July 7, 2016 by MarkP
IkarusJohn Posted July 7, 2016 Share #84 Posted July 7, 2016 ...and dare I ask how many unprocessed rolls of film you now lying around in that drawer in your desk? :-) I hate to think. Less than the strips of negatives and boxes of slides waiting to be scanned ...
ramarren Posted July 15, 2016 Share #85 Posted July 15, 2016 It's been a somewhat rough week. I needed a diversion, so I pulled out my ancient 1959 Hektor 135mm f/4.5 and fitted it to the M-D to take for a walk. ...The M-D + Hektor 135mm work very well. Amazing to see how sharp and beautiful the photos out of this 57 year old lens can be. I'll post a few tomorrow, too tired to see clearly now. :-)The M-D is my favorite digital Leica M. No question. There's something about it that is "just right" for me. G
jaapv Posted July 15, 2016 Share #86 Posted July 15, 2016 That Hektor is indeed a beautiful lens !
a.noctilux Posted February 2, 2018 Share #87 Posted February 2, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just curious. As happy user of M-D, for a while now, I question myself if I had bough the M Edition 60 when available, I would use the M60 as my M-D now with almost all of my lenses. Owner of M Edition 60 do you use the camera ? Alone with another lens or the kit with 35mm most ? When I tried the M Edition 60 some years ago, the weight of the kit was too much for me, even if the concept please me a lot.
ramarren Posted February 2, 2018 Share #88 Posted February 2, 2018 Why wouldn't you use an M Edition 60 with all of your lenses just like any other camera? Unless you bought it purely for collectibility reasons... --- On another subject: I like to use my Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 on the M-D. I've mostly used it either with no accessory viewfinder at all, or at the 21mm setting with a Voigtländer 21/25 optical viewfinder for framing. Both work, but I was thinking of acquiring the Voigtländer 15mm viewfinder as well to use at the wide end with a little more framing precision. I started looking for one, couldn't find one used, new they're over $200 ... In the course of looking the other day, I did an ebay search for the Leica Universal Wide Angle Viewfinder. Bingo! found one for $500. Covers all the focal lengths, includes parallax correction and a built-in level. I pressed the button... Should be here in a day or two. A FrankenFinder at last! My M-D is complete!
a.noctilux Posted February 22, 2019 Share #89 Posted February 22, 2019 Some Collectors regrettably don't use their M Edition 60. Now, one is offered on sale "never use", early serial number, Lisbon. The seller even offered flight ticket ☺️ (at first...) to go to Lisbon for purchaser of summilux.net Link to the M60 "buy&sell", here (tempting, but for me not now )
elmadi Posted March 4, 2019 Share #90 Posted March 4, 2019 Hello, I just joined forum and I seek anyone's advice : I am tempted to trade my second hand M60 for the new M10 for the reason of weight and convenience. I love my M60 but it's weight bothers me during my travel plus I miss the LCD screen at times. I have owned my M60 for 2 years now. Thank you for any advice. a.noctilux Posted March 4, 2019 Share #91 Posted March 4, 2019 Welcome to this forum elmadi. If you want to trade your M Edition 60, just take it to Leica Store or Leica dealer. I think that way must be the fastest way to replace your M60 with M10 of your choice ( M10, M10-P or M10-D ! ). If you want to sell M60 first, that may be the most cost effective, but you may wait a while to have your M10.

I brought it to a Leica dealer who is willing to buy my M60 set and they will trade the new M-10 and a mint (used) Summicron 28 which I still need to pay US2K. Do you think I am getting a good deal? Thank you again
a.noctilux Posted March 4, 2019 Share #93 Posted March 4, 2019 Good deal or not, you are only one to decide. As matter of "values", individual decisions are only ones that are "accurate", the other opinions are only "advices" to follow or not. Last time I know about M60 complete set , one sells (always selling) for 10 k euros (for 15 k euros when new).

You are right, it's "only" me who can answer my own question. The opportunity is tempting since I can get rid of my M60 quickly and have the M10 quickly as well. But I am not too happy that I still need to pay more than $1K
a.noctilux Posted March 4, 2019 Share #95 Posted March 4, 2019 A shop must take some risk to sell or not your ex M60 in your place. The risk "costs" some USD 🤞.
Auchtermuchty Posted March 4, 2019 Author Share #96 Posted March 4, 2019 Follow your heart, and write off the money. The important thing is to keep taking pictures, and if the M10 lights your fire, that's worth the additional cost.

Yes, my "heart" is leaning towards the trade-in. And yet my "brain" is in the way. "Follow my heart" will be my motto today 🙂
Michael Geschlecht Posted March 5, 2019 Share #99 Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) Hello Elmadi, Welcome to the Forum. Before you "follow your heart" alone, you might ask people in the "Collectors & Historica" Section if they could recommend some Auctioneers who might be able to help you to reach a "happy medium" so that both your "brain" & your "heart" will be equally happy with the price that you get for the M60. Best Regards, Michael Edited March 5, 2019 by Michael Geschlecht

Best Regards, Michael Thank you very much Michael for your welcome and advice. I will go to the "Collectors & Historica" for their recommendation. Thanks for advising me about my "brain" and "heart" to be equally happy for the selling of my M60. Warm regards....
