rmueller Posted December 27, 2021 Share #1063 Posted December 27, 2021 Hi, hope everyone had relaxing holidays and Christmas. So here it is, by now loaded with SilberSalz35 daylight film. Completed a roll over Christmas, three more rolls to go before sending to the lab for development and scanning. So far, it feels really good, love the simplicity, found myself looking for the on/off switch for the first couple of images but now its just pure fun. Wish everyone a joyful, peaceful and healthy new year 2022. Cheers, Ralf Welcome, dear visitor! a.noctilux Posted January 27, 2022 Share #1065 Posted January 27, 2022 😵 These two last posts made me think "maybe something wrong" in those pictures". Searching a bit ... Found it, Capped lenses ! So nothing wrong, only just me feeling something not normal with those capped lenses. Even worse when I see M without lens, or maybe I've done it in the past 🙃 😁 saw it now Welcome, dear visitor! James6714 Posted January 27, 2022 Share #1066 Posted January 27, 2022 Hahaha, the M-A has a roll of film in it. Although I never took any pictures of cameras without lens, because they were all digital bodies and don't want to expose dust to the sensor.

Youxin Ye (a technician whom I use and trust very much) once strongly advised me against using one of those out of concern that the rod, if bent, can do serious internal damage to the shutter release mechanism. It happened to me. Luckily Leica fixed it under warranty.

This is to show that you cannot get an M2 anymore for $500..

If memory serves me one in good work order hovered around $1000, but still..........$2400??
RayD28 Posted February 7, 2022 Share #1078 Posted February 7, 2022 The sad thing (unless you already have one) is they will never get cheaper. Bargains can be had but ….. Someone asked Mark Twain if he had any investment tips. Twain replied, buy land because they don’t make it anymore. They do still make film M’s and a new M-A’s price is becoming more “acceptable”. PS—- don’t tell leica or they’ll raise MP and M-A prices.
kivis Posted February 9, 2022 Share #1079 Posted February 9, 2022 We've all noticed by now that some M-A's have a slotted lens release button and others like mine have a smooth silver button for the lens release. What gives?
