pgk Posted October 23, 2013 Share #121 Posted October 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) ..... and one from today. At the top of the village where I live is a little Local Nature Reserve run by the County Council. A hundred years ago it was privately owned and apparently had a little cafe in the woodland (you can still see where it was) but now its just a pleasant walk through woods and along the stream. I often take pix there and wanted to produce something with an 'oldish' feel to it. This image of the pathway is shot wide-open on a pre-aspheric 35mm Summilux on an M8, and the shallow depth of field together with its dreamy bokeh and the slightly imprecise softness of the area in focus, does seem to give an older look to it. The fast aperture also breaks up the fine detail which merges together so easily in these shots. I used a UVa filter so there is probably some IR contamination which helps too. Not to everyone's taste I'm sure, but it works for me. Welcome, dear visitor!
