How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

I have been back and forth with this camera. Originally had two, then sold both for " more MP, better high ISO, etc." But was never able to replicate the beauty of the Digilux 2's photos...even with the latest models and best lenses of other makes, which, in all fairness, shall go nameless. Rest assured, they were the " best ", but sold them all. Accordingly, I'm back with two, high 301xxxx SN, lovely D2s. One that was still in the original box and had only 300 shutter actuations - essentially never used. I keep this as my backup, still in the box! I just love the analog controls and the never since replicated, amazing Vario-Summicron f 2-2.4 lens. I wish others could have the good luck, as do I, to enjoy this wonderful camera. Best, Angus

Adding another more recent picture from this past week. Am getting re-accustomed to the shutter lag, the viewfinder (especially in low light), and the slow write speeds.

I've delayed responding to what I feel is an unnecessary and dismissive comment to let my irritation subside.  

Perhaps it escaped your notice that this 143-page thread has been running since 2007.  X1 pictures are doubtless worthy of note but to place such a comment in this thread is deeply patronising to all those people who have supported this thread with examples of Digilux 2 pictures with their distinctive look for the past 12 years by posting their pictures here.

You might not see Digilux 2 pictures as being anything out of the ordinary, which is your right of course, by there are many hundreds of members who disagree with you and have freely shared examples here to show why.

I really cannot understand your Ire - no disrespect was meant. My comment wa quite simple & self explanatory. -

I won't respond to your comment about being a loud-mouth bully because it has no substance.

It's a shame that you feel the need to leave the forum in the face of a reasonable and politely-put objection to your post and that was never my aim but at the end of the day that's your choice.

In April I posted a 2008 picture I had taken with my D2, and made a promise to myself to reacquire a camera I had quickly regretted trading in for an M8.... Well my new to me D2 arrived tonight... and it is pretty well in mint condition, with a shuttercount of just less than 9000. I can't wait to use it over this winter season. Here is my first quickly grabbed photo.... I have some way to go to catch up with many of the posters on this thread!
