Do Digilux 2 photos have distinctive look?

I noticed that as well that those batteries, even 3rd party, are getting more difficult to come by as time goes on. I’m hoping this doesn’t turn into another DMR battery situation! Good thinking, Pete

I could do with a spare. Who in the UK might stock or be able to get one?

Hi David,

They're still available from Amazon.  The catch is that they're not branded with a date of manufacture and Li-Ion batteries lose capacity through age so their age can be important.  It may be a case of taking your chances.

Pete.

Thank you Pete. A case of Hobson's Choice  or no backup. I will see what that famous river can deliver. ☺

My apologies, David, I completely forgot to add the weblink to my post.  Here's the CGR-S602E at £12.49.

That is very helpful Pete; thank you.  I have ordered one.

I am *not* a macro photographer, but once I finally got my hands on an Elpro D E69, I figured that I would put it to some use.

Below are a handful of quick shots - shot at 400 ISO (hence the grain).

I had a lot of fun with the adapter and it's a good change of pace after shooting street and day-to-day subjects. Just figured I'd share my attempts - I am sure that the more I use it, the more accustomed to the FOV I'll become.

What a satisfying diversion for you and super results. Now I must try this for myself.

I am hoping the Digilux 2 is "all that".

I have a CL with 3 prime and 1 zoom lens, and just picked up a DL2 to check it out.

After reading many reviews that rave about the lens, I figured it was worth a try.

Found one in very good condition for $350 on 'the-bay'.

Due to arrive tomorrow.

Hi, congratulations and I hope you enjoy your Digilux 2.

A couple of things that might be of help:

Many of us shoot the Digilux 2 in jpeg only because shooting in RAW freezes the camera for several while it writes to card, and jpegs are superb anyway.

Digilux 2 is normally abbreviated to "D2" because "DL2" refers to the D-Lux 2.

Pete.

The D2 arrived yesterday. I spent the evening familiarizing myself with the setup and shot a few test pics today. Downloaded a manual from the web.

I have to say that I am impressed with it. The lens is great. While not the fastest AF, it does focus. Macro is decent as well.

The battery is discharging quickly, so I ordered some replacements. ($20 each on 'the-bay')

As I said, I haven't really spent much time with it but my initial impression is that it is the best $350 camera that I have owned!

This will stay in the car, as my run-n-gun rig. Here's a few I shot around the house.
