rramesh Posted May 22, 2012 Share #22 Posted May 22, 2012 Sorry to hear that. It would never have happened with the Hermes edition, though.

StephenPatterson Posted May 22, 2012 Share #26 Posted May 22, 2012 Really sorry about this, but that's why we have insurance and back up bodies. I'm sure Solms will get you back up and running in no time at all. BTW, how did the SF24D make out?

jaques Posted May 22, 2012 Share #29 Posted May 22, 2012 by the looks the 4 screws all sheared off pretty neatly? Or will the entire top have to be replaced? Methinks Leica made the foot of the flash too strong:eek:
Paul Verrips Posted May 22, 2012 Share #30 Posted May 22, 2012 I feel sorry for you, hope it is fixed asap.
Washington Posted May 22, 2012 Share #31 Posted May 22, 2012 From my own experience the strength of the body casting under the covers of this machine is on par with silly-putty and I am not kidding one little bit after repairing broken casing parts with J.B. Weld epoxy.
thrid Posted May 22, 2012 Share #32 Posted May 22, 2012 Ouch. Sorry to see that jaapv. Reminds me of a shoot I did about 2 weeks ago. I had a Metz 54 something mounted on my M7. Fairly ridiculous combination and I was starting to wonder what would be first to go; the flash foot or the camera shoe. :-) I really wish someone made a TTL flash the size of the SF20/24 that could be bounced... masjah Posted May 22, 2012 Share #36 Posted May 22, 2012 So very sorry about this - hope you get it back restored to health before too long. One of any Leica owner's worst nightmares.
Bill Allsopp Posted May 22, 2012 Share #37 Posted May 22, 2012 Bad luck Jaap. I hope your excess is not too much.
jonoslack Posted May 22, 2012 Share #38 Posted May 22, 2012 Thanks, but I would not call it a nightmare. I’ll just have it repaired and shoot my M8 in the meantime. As it's now Tuesday, perhaps this is the moment to nip down to the store (I assume it's open on tuesdays?) grab yourself an OMD and a novoflex adapter and have a play with some of those lovely R lenses? Stealth3kpl Posted May 22, 2012 Share #39 Posted May 22, 2012 It would've been cheaper to sit down in St Mark's Square! They'll soon have it sorted and as good as new. Pete
Manolo Laguillo Posted May 22, 2012 Share #40 Posted May 22, 2012 I look at that broken top and it hurts me! Sorry for that, jaapv! ... I am having big fun with the Nex 5N + Leica lenses... You could try that in the meanwhile;) Cheers, Manolo
