Ken, it looks like you're the winner. This vehicle is indeed a 1939 American Bantam semi and the last remaining example of approximately eight built for promotional purposes that they called a "Bantamliner." American Austin was the name of the first manufacturer, who went bankrupt, while the reincarnated company, American Bantam, among other offerings, is best known for developing the first prototype jeep - the Bantam Reconnaissance Vehicle. Now on to you - amuse us & confuse us!

Cheers, John. Until I can scan something, there might be a wee delay. I'd be happy for Larry to post the next one, if you agree, Larry?

Matt and Henry- no problem! There is a general classic car (and bike?) thread here:

Henry, I think it is a Bentley with special 2-seater bodywork but I'm usually wrong. :o Anyone else got a view?

I've got no problems with that, Ken. Let's just keep this thread going as it seems to have a pretty healthy following. Larry, have you got anything?

Kent, you are right! Officially it was the "Fiat 600 Derivazione Abarth 750 GT Carrozzeria Zagato". That was thankfully shortened to Fiat Abarth 750 Zagato Coupe. Built from 1956-58ish, with as much as 47hp. Here's the front of the car. : Your turn, and thanks!

Exactly! In fact it was one of two of these rare (approx. 30 made) Coda Tronca SZs at the concours:

Seeing all these images of beautiful Alfas makes you fantasise about what a superb car manufacturer AR could have continued to be, had they used German steel and quality control methods. Sad to see the marque become re-badged Fiat.
