Most 1900s are such beauties, a collector could create a complete museum with only 1900 models (through all series and designers). We had the larger engined Alfa B2500S model with a 2 seater roadster De Mola body and although very pretty, not great to drive. I too don't remember the D50 having a grille under the screen but cars got modified from race to race at that time and I cannot think of any other car in that period with pannier tanks. The regular one did have two bonnet scoops and I wondered if the rear scoop might have had a grille put over it at some time. There is also the D50 assembled from unused and repaired parts in the 1990's by my friend Anthony Maclean. Did the Lancia Ferrari 812 successor to the D50, ever run with the pannier tanks, I don't think so. Wilson PS The other car which had side tanks was the Bugatti 251 but did it ever run long enough for anyone to take a photo of it? In their todays use that doesn‘t count much, except it reimains a truck and most women would prefer a later Gulietta Spider at classic car events.
