HarryW Posted October 10, 2009 Share #63 Posted October 10, 2009 Marco, Well done on the list. Another three names that I don't think have been mentioned previously - their B+W work is outstanding and also has a very strong element of UK 1960's history. David Bailey Terence Donovan Brian Duffy

David_Manning Posted October 20, 2009 Share #67 Posted October 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Regarding Prabuddha Dasgupta on page two... I checked his website, which has fantastic work, and I emailed him, asking him about workflow, etc. This was his reply: --Hello David, Thank you for your mail and the generous comments you make about my work.. It never ceases to amaze me, that this marvel of technology..the internet, allows work to be shared across the globe with the mere press of a key! I used to work exclusively with film, and honed my craft in the traditional darkroom, fine tuning a single print over many hours...but now I have embraced digital. More and more I find myself working with point and shoot compact cameras..stretching their potential to the very maximum! I am currently travelling...will write in more detail when I'm stationary. Till then, thank you again and all the very best Prabuddha-- Interesting insight indeed.

Marquinius Posted October 24, 2009 Share #72 Posted October 24, 2009 Looking at thread and list of names mentioned in it which Marco collected (thank you) I wonder if people mention really inspirational b/w photographers or all those they know that work in b/w even if they are not inspiratinal to them... I wondered about that also. I use it for inspiration notwithstanding. Sometimes looking at lesser photos helps more than looking at the top ones.
