Simon Bee Posted September 29, 2012 Share #322 Posted September 29, 2012 Just a quick snap-shot of my "R" system, R7 bought yesterday, all the lenses bought earlier this year before the announcement of the "M" appeared to make most disappear off websites within days. I was fortunate and had all at "bargain" prices, e.g. the 280 APO was £1250 .... I wonder what prices they would realise now ? 19mm Elmarit V2 ROM 28mm Elmarit V2 ROM 50mm Summicron ROM 90mm Elmarit V2 3-cam 180mm APO Telyt ROM 280mm APO Telyt 3-cam 2 x APO Macro R adapter and finally... a rather nice chrome R7 Yep, I'm one happy camper Regards Simon Welcome, dear visitor! fabrispino Posted September 30, 2012 Share #324 Posted September 30, 2012 hello to all this is my beloved and longed for kit Leica. It took me years and many sacrifices for it, and I enjoyed its incredible performance. Each piece is unique and is also a part of my life. Thanks to Leica to experience these emotions. andybarton Posted September 30, 2012 Share #325 Posted September 30, 2012 That's a great collection and a great story. This forum is full of those for whom buying the latest Leica isn't a big deal financially, and this kind of story is very heartening. There is, in my opinion, more pleasure to be had from making sacrifices and saving for a camera bag full of equipment like this, than fretting over whether the new M is going to have a gnat's whisker of more dynamic range than the previous top of the range model that the fretted owns. Have fun with your fantastic collection of R lenses and please share some of the results with us.
dave.gt Posted September 30, 2012 Share #326 Posted September 30, 2012 hello to allthis is my beloved and longed for kit Leica. It took me years and many sacrifices for it, and I enjoyed its incredible performance. Each piece is unique and is also a part of my life. Thanks to Leica to experience these emotions. My dream kit and you went out and actually DID it! Currently, I am making do with my R4 + 50 Cron. Took me six months to save up for an X1 at half the new price so it probably won't be feasible for me to even think of saving up for such a nice kit at yours! Amazing. Thank you for your story and the photo of the kit...

Simon Bee Posted October 1, 2012 Share #329 Posted October 1, 2012 Simon, you where lucky to find a 280 APO at that price! Fernando. Hi Fernando, Firstly thank you for replying to "my" post, it's nice when someone makes the effort to do so. Yes indeed I do consider myself very lucky, what made it an even better bargain was that I bought it from a well know UK leica dealer and have a six month warranty. I study the best dealers sites most nights and this time it certainly "paid off" , the lens was not listed on their site during the "working day" but uploaded later that evening. I have bought a lot of quality kit off this dealer over many years so knew I could trust the description, therefore I just put in in my "basket" straight away as I knew it would not be on their site for many more hours With regard to the others, I paid the following :- 19mm ROM £999.00 28mm ROM £899.00 50mm ROM £399.00 90mm 3 cam £225.00 180 F3.4 APO ROM £799.00 2x APO £299.00 Macro adapter £50.00 A "lovely" chrome R7 £299.00 Given that most top "R" lenses now appear to have sold off the dealers shelves I do indeed consider myself "very" lucky. Kind regards Simon

antistatic Posted October 16, 2012 Share #335 Posted October 16, 2012 After lusting after an R camera for a while, I bought this R6.2 and 50 summicron-R from Camera West in Walnut Grove last week. Hal at Camera West was a true gentleman and a font of knowledge re all things Leica. It has been a pleasure to use. As I am returning home from a trip to San Francisco I have yet to develop any of the rolls I have exposed. It feels like a perfect companion to my MP with 35 summicron. Only problem is that seems like exactly the worst time to buy R glass. Oh well. (Excuse iPhone photo taken on the bench of the Walnut Grove train station on the day of purchase) Welcome, dear visitor! naturephoto1 Posted November 21, 2012 Share #337 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) I have lurked on this forum from time to time. This is my first posting and shows most of my Leica R system. After moving pieces around, I noticed that my Macro Adapter R is no longer visible, which is sitting beyond my 60mm f2.8 Macro Elmarit lens. Rich Welcome, dear visitor!
