Advertisement Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hi Aram Langhans, Take a look here the ridiculous placement of the SD card door on Q3/43. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted April 18 Share #22 Posted April 18 In film days it was what used to be called a 'compact camera', and there were plenty of creditable equivalents (w/o EVF) such as the Voigtlander Vito C (which I had) and such jewels as the Rollei B35 (etc)
setuporg Posted April 18 Author Share #23 Posted April 18 (edited) A Brownie. Or a Leica. I heard they are much easier to carry than those view cameras that Ansel Adams is dragging up the mountains. Edited April 18 by setuporg
Trankster Posted April 19 Share #24 Posted April 19 Fixed lens advanced camera, yes. In fully automatic (beginner or P&S mode) I suppose any camera could be called point and shoot including the SL line. As to the original opinion, I did not initially understand the complaint and never thought it was a problem on my prior Q2 and current Q3 43. There are grips with cutouts for both the battery and SD card (I use the Lims grip case). With the arca swiss connection, it is easy enough to remove the camera for a battery or sd card change. Am I missing something?
Cogito Posted April 19 Share #25 Posted April 19 Autofocus isn't good enough for it to be a point and shoot camera. ~~~

I disagree, as I never use my Qs as point-and-shoots (like I use my iPhone). I rarely use Qs or Ms on a tripod, but I don't see why one shouldn't use a Q with a tripod if ultimate IQ is the goal. The Q images you see in LFI are indeed not shot with a point-and-shoot mentality. Edited April 19 by SrMi

I couldn't get myself into the mood for thoughtful shooting with these cameras.
ynp Posted April 19 Share #28 Posted April 19 I had the Q3 43 for several months with hopes to use the leaf shutter for flash outdoors. Brilliant camera and lens, but limited in use. And I didn’t enjoy the viewfinder experience. I have returned to my M10r since. My 40mm M-Rokkor is still my body cap.

If you can afford $6000 for the camera, a new grip is peanuts. I bought a JJC HG-Q3 $50. it’s light, sturdy, and the SD card slot is easy to access as is the battery slot. It’s a non issue. It means that all the Q2 cases with a card door are obsolete, and any Arca plate you screw in will obstruct the card door. All for that handgrip that 0.1% of Q owners will ever get. WTF?! This is par for the course with Leica. The release of a new model (Q, M, SL) call for all new accessories since the ones for the previous model are incompatible with the new one.

Cant say that about any of the others without some kind of adapter and the loss of functions.
Simone_DF Posted April 20 Share #36 Posted April 20 Let’s not forget you also need to buy a new camera bag every time you get a new camera.
