Certain:

That photo is not the real M11V.

the M11V has no ISO dial, and no rangefinder window, so the top plate will be rounded, and not have a “corner” to accommodate the rangefinder.

The EVF and diopter adjustment are exactly the same as the Q3,

No tilting screen.

The Leica red dot logo will be above the m mount, not on the top right corner like the Q3.

It is only available in black.

The dimensions are same as the M11, not the Q3.

It has the button layout of an M11.

It uses Q3 28 leatherette.

Marketed and priced as an entry point to the M system, and for using ultrawides, the promotional postered will feature the Summilux 21.

^^^^ How is any of this certain?  Leica had made exactly ZERO announcements about this EVF camera.

Will Leica sell more of this camera if it is launched as a total surprise, or if there's a months' long run-up of leaks and speculation?
I'm sure it's the latter, so I doubt they are particularly upset at the moment, whether or not they have seeded the rumours themselves.

Don't people realize that the Q shutter is in the lens, not focal plane?  You just cannot make a Q camera into an M camera.  Speculation about a Q with an M mount is unrealistic.

Who says it’s going to have a mechanical shutter at all?

Can you elaborate on the source of those informations.

I had a chat with one of the people who have early access to the promotional images, and have seen the promotional images myself. The items I put in “certain” are not guesses/speculations, it is confirmed to be true.

The items I put in “not certain” are not confirmed.

I am not certain about the finish of the “M11-V/M11-E” by just looking at the images, even though I think it looks more similar to the Q’s finishing.

I am also not certain of the video functionality. The layout seemed like there is no video functionality.

The person referred to the camera as “M11-E, M11-V” not “M-EVF 1” but may be due to easier communication.

And no, it is not a patchwork of existing rumors.

Not certain:

Texture/ finish will be similar to the Q3/ SL3, not the scratch resistant black paint of the M11.

No video functionality.

The product name maybe M11-E

Interesting, and plausible, if the camera actually breaks cover.

Not clear what "breaks cover"means.

I suspect it’s originally a bird game hunting expression - game birds will sit “in cover”, til they’re ready to make a flight for safety, and then they “break cover”.  So, generally, it’s when something that has been kept secret is released.

I'm very curious to see whether the new camera will feature full-screen digital zoom or whether Leica will just go with frame-based zoom, despite repeated requests. Full-screen digital zoom is incredibly convenient in the RX1RIII and GFX100RF.

Copied over from our mates at Leica Rumours. Guessing they are referring to the weight of the black M11 but non specific.

The new M EV1 will be 45g lighter compared to the M11

The new FN button (frame selection lever) will have dual functionality for the electronic viewfinder: peaking on/off or zoom on/off (assignable in the menu, I assume)

The M EV1 will use the same M11 BP-SCL7 battery (the M EV1 is based on the M11 electronics)

Yesterday I had a short talk with a Leica official at a trade fair here in Germany. And he claimed that something like an EVF M is a camera the community should be very patient, which implies, that it won't come in the near future.

First rule of R&D design to field staff relations is: never reveal any information on future products to the public facing employees.
