Leica did it for the MD, the MDa and the MD-2 already. Keeping the RF window would make little sense for a camera sans RF IMHO. As for the VF window, Leica did keep it for the M1, but for the EVF-M it would sit at the same place as the EVF i guess so i hardly see how it could be a true viewfinder. I have no info about that though.

I know, and I was waiting for it. But they looked ugly. 🤮

Pure Bauhaus elegance. Form Follows Function. Now, Leica could sell finder window decals for those with delicate stomachs :D

Nothing of real significance for weeks and then four hours ago we get post 1966, followed by a series of comments that mostly assume post 1966 is fact.  Until I see something tangible, I will assume it’s fiction.

Its likely not fiction.  Now that is out of the way.  Should I return my new leica M11-P and wait for the EVF version.  I wear glasses and have bad eye sight.   Maybe it would be the best for me to nail critical focus.  I was actually considering ordering a leica visoflex2.

YMMV but if I were in your shoes I would reject the M series altogether for an autofocus camera. Manual focusing by EV is slower than by rangefinder and while it can be quite precise it can also strain the eyes. It's a pretty unpleasant experience to do manually for everything. Any mirrorless (imo) needs AF to be generally usable.

so... i mainly use the visoflex but likely this camera is not for me since i usually shoot looking down with the visoflex screen pointing up ....

The Visoflex 2 is made for that as well. If it works this way for you, it is made for you too. Famous photographers have been focusing this way for decades with their Rolleiflex or Hasselblad cameras.

Different experience here. Manual focusing with EVF is easy for me. I mean on M11/Visoflex 2 with auto zoom + focus peaking. YMMV.

Genuinely curious how you achieve that at a comparable speed while also keeping an eye on a dynamic, moving composition at the same time. Auto zoom means you’re not seeing the whole frame. I’ve never been able to toggle back and forth between the two fast enough to come close to what a rangefinder offers. For static subjects it’s great, I get that.

Matter of habit i guess. I've been using M lenses with mirrorless cameras before the M11. Now i never focus at full aperture if i don't need it absolutely. Too slow for me. Always at working aperture when focusing is accurate enough with focus magnification + focus peaking. YMMV.

This most uplifting feature of this rumor to me is the adobe camera matching profile. How does this really work? Will the original raw have the same SOOC jpgs color? If so, that would be increadible and game changer. Hope they can also implement this feature to the previous M11 varieties.

I really hope that the new FN frame selector will be able to be equipped with a digital crop function (Zoom in/Zoom out) and the zoom will be full screen or only with frames (at the user's choice).

If the rumors are true, I'm surprised that Leica would use the old Maestro III in the new camera. It's barely capable enough for the M11.

The electronics are likely the same as in M11, hence Maestro III. I assume that Maestro IV's benefit is mainly in AF and continuous shooting, neither of which is relevant for the M11 series.

I would like a faster processor that would allow the camera to turn on faster and work properly in continuous shooting mode (M11/M11-P does not work correctly in continuous shooting mode, often continuing the series even after releasing the shutter button).
