DigitalHeMan Posted January 22 Share #1 Posted January 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just received an email from Leica, as I'm sure many of you did too. So they're releasing a 'limited edition' M11 with various random city names on the top plate, 100 for each city. And a stuffed teddy bear, some coloring pencils, and other random non-photographic accessories. https://leica-camera.com/en-int/photography/100-years-products Not really sure what to think about that. Was hoping for something a bit more 'interesting'..... 1

darylgo Posted January 22 Share #5 Posted January 22 (edited) Six cities, 100 each, will it be difficult to get one? Anyone planning a purchase? Waiting lists? Will batteries be available at Leica 200? Edited January 22 by darylgo
la1402 Posted January 22 Share #6 Posted January 22 I am not collector and have zero interest in any of this. My M11 still works fine. 2
T25UFO Posted January 22 Share #7 Posted January 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) What a crappy way to commemorate such an important photographic anniversary. Almost convinces me to sell all Leica gear and buy a Hasselblad. 5 1

pippy Posted January 22 Share #9 Posted January 22 (edited) Ermm...the M-D Typ-262 already has an engraving which reads : 'Leitz Camera Wetzlar Germany' on the top-plate as well as the cursive 'Leica' legend so, in that respect, nothing special with the engravings on the new one whatsoever. In light of which I think I'll be fine with simply hanging on to that camera. Best wishes to them, of course, in their attempt to Milk the Goose that Lays the Golden Crock of Luxus' at the end of the Rainbow. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest from Dedicated Photographers the world over. Well; in six cities perhaps? Philip. I was thinking it was more like a 25’$ thing. That’s a hefty Leica tax!
earleygallery Posted January 22 Share #13 Posted January 22 Apparently there’s a Summarit lens inside each bear, old stock they found. So not bad value if you’re prepared to cut the bear open for it.

charlesphoto99 Posted January 22 Share #17 Posted January 22 This is what the British call 'tosh.' Very expensive tosh... But hey, maybe it'll help pay for the salary of an extra coder to keep the M12 from freezing up. Hopefully one without magenta colored glasses...
